This is my first fake tree ever!! We got it at Lowe's after Christmas last year on a great clearance because I knew Texas didn't have a plethera of real pine trees around. We put it up on Saturday and I really, really miss the smell and picking out the "perfect tree." And I also gulped a little when we read 'Why Christmas Trees Aren't Perfect' the other night. BUT, I also feel a bit guilty really liking that I don't have to vacuum pine needles up every day, or wake up at 3 a.m. wondering if I remembered to water it, worrying about it drying out too quickly or catching on fire, and stringing lights on it so it looks right. So, I never thought I'd do it, but I have. My mom bought a fake tree 2 years ago, and I couldn't believe it. I even sent her a branch of my tree in the mail to rub it in. Now, I have one. *Sigh* I'm torn.
But, I was thrilled to find this little baby at Bath and Body Works right before Thanksgiving. They were burning it in the store and it smelled so good, so I bought some. I have loved it! It smells like Christmas, that's the only way I can describe it. It has the real christmas tree smell, along with cinnamon and other things. You put it in their little oil warmers (or any other warmer) and the scent starts coming immediately. It is divine! But apparently, others have thought so too and our stores are out of them here and they are out online too....it is the winter scent by Slatkin & Co. (?) so keep your eyes peeled for me :)
