how odd

Odd socks.

Where do they come from? How come I have so many? If you've been to my house before, maybe you see one of yours in the pile? Do you just throw them out? I just think that I might find a match one day behind a bed or under the dryer, or out in the dirt pile or in the car, so I keep them and my collection grows...and grows. What do you do with yours?

  1. What do I do with mine? I stare at them and then laugh. Then I usually shove them in Ryan's sock drawer ;)! Love the deep thoughts by the way, Ryan and I laughed forever at them last night!

  3. I just put them in our sock drawers, and hope that I find the matching sock one day. I think all dryers have a secret hiding place where socks get sucked into. :P

  4. I found your blog through a post on Nester's and couldn't help but to respond regarding the mystery of the missing socks. They.drive.ME.NUTS!!!! I refuse to put them in the drawer unmatched so they either go in a pile on my coffee table/ottomon (where I always fold clothes) to see if their friend turns up in the next load -or- sometimes I actually put them back in the dirty laundry BUT, before I wash again, I do a good, all over the house search for every dirty hidden thing. If they come through there more than twice, that odd many out goes in the garbage. Sorry, girls, I just don't have the patience for it.

  5. This makes me CRAZY!! Michael is certain I am the problem--I can't wait to show him yours!! I keep mine forever. I finally had to put mine in a small container with a lid and when it gets too full, I throw out the ones that have been there the longest!! Maybe we should put ours together and see if we find any matches from our vacations together!:)

  6. I feel your pain. I hate mismatched socks. I used to save them too but for the last year I have started throwing them away. I think there has only been one time that I have regretted it because I found a match. It really does feel liberating to get rid of them!!

  7. ARGH....mismatched socks! I swear they are like rabbits. Leave them alone for 5 minutes in a dark room and they reproduce!!! They are my arch nemesis!!!

  8. okay, you all inspired me! I did all my laundry, then I paid the girls 5 cents for any matches they could find from all my odd socks (they found over 30!!) and I'm throwing out the rest! Next, I'm moving on to my box pile...that's another story. You just never know when you're going to need the perfect box, especially with Ebay. :)

  10. I want to throw them away, but I know the second I do the matches will pop up. I keep a basket on the self above my dryer to put the single socks. I go through it about once a week to try and find matches. However, some have been there for months.
