license plate bingo {for real}

12 September 2010

I showed you our big, empty wall in our playroom. We thought it would be fun to fill it with a license plate from every state.september 2010 064 1

Kind of like this one here:license-plate-wall-art
Problem is, we only have Montana, Utah, Idaho, and Texas.  Sooo, I’m hoping you have an extra lying around that you may want to send to help us complete our wall? You would just have to stick it in a big envelope and attach 4 stamps. And of course, I would love to work out a trade as well, if you would like your blog button on my sidebar for a month, or maybe a guest post about what you love about your state, or an Etsy or blog feature, email me
and we can discuss! We would love one from every state to complete our wall. I’ll cross out the ones we get as we get them. And maybe this will totally bomb, but it’s worth a shot for a totally cool license plate wall?
Y’all are the best! AND I want to invite you all to a part-ay.
We’re going to have a Under $10 Under 1 Hour Party on Thursday, September 23. It’s one of my favorite categories here at 320 Sycamore. So get those fabulous, frugal, and fast projects ready to share with us and mark your blog calendars. I can’t wait!

  6. I have one from Ohio, but it's from Cincinnati Ohio. Does it have to be from Columbus? We just bought a new car and don't need the plates from the old one anymore.
If you let me know if Cincy will work I will gladly send it to you.
Shoot me an e-mail if you would like it.

  7. I erased the capitals because that was confusing. So yes, Stephanie and Sylvia, I would love a plate from anywhere in the state. Thanks, everyone!

  11. What a great idea! I would love to help you out. However....a word of warning. We had plates from Connecticut, where we used to live. We kept them until we replaced them with Indiana plates, and planned to keep them even longer than that. However, the state of Connecticut sent us a nasty gram informing us that we needed to send those plates back or be charged with a $100 fine. Um, no thanks...we sent them back right away! I don't know if any other states have this policy, but it might be tricky to get plates from CT, at least.

Sorry to be Debbie Downer, today. I might be able to find Indiana, though.

  16. I would have happily sent you an AZ plate, but I see you are covered. :) If you get stuck, sometimes I have found old plated at flea markets. My mom bought my sis & I each one from our home state (mo) with our birth years on them. :)

  27. I just called my husband to see if I could get you a Louisiana one. I thought he might have one laying around the shop (he has a bunch of big trucks for our business). I think we have to turn our license plates in if a car is not being driven and the insurance has lapsed. I don't know anyone who has an old LA license plate.....

  28. I see you don't have Vermont yet.
I live in Canada, but have a summer house in Vermont. I am going there to spend the weekend in 2 weeks. If you havent received one by then, I will go look for one for you!!

  29. Hi Melissa,
I just noticed that Rhode Island isn't crossed off your list yet. I'm from RI! I don't think I have any plates here at home, but I will be on the hunt for you with family and friends. The last time our state changed the plate design, we had to turn in all the old ones. I'll keep an eye out for one though!!
    Take care,
    Karen
