sproutin’ some spring grass…inside!

Sprouting wheat grass is super easy. Promise. Here’s my “i gots grass” post from last year. It has to be easy, or I wouldn’t do it again.
1. Gather some wheat kernels (I used hard red wheat) or go to your local health food store and tell them you want to sprout wheat grass and they should point you in the right direction.
Soak them in water overnight.

2. Sprinkle over soil in containers and spray water daily to keep moist. Mine was pretty sparse last year, so I layed it on thick this time and was much happier with the results.
3. Watch it grow!! Mine has been growing for 2 weeks and I’ve already given 2 haircuts.

5. Cut it with scissors if you want to. It smells so good when it is being cut! Just like a freshly mowed lawn in the summer…

I am just realizing that Easter is on April 24. Hopefully it holds out until then so we can tuck some easter eggs inside.
Do you grow grass..inside??signature
4/15/11 A little follow up note: it's still another week until Easter and my grass is looking SAD., mostly because I haven't been the best with watering. Next year, I think planting 2-3 weeks before Easter would be perfect.

not good. Next year, I'm going to do it 2 weeks before easter, and it should
be perfect. Mostly, because I didn't take care of it after about 3 weeks and
    it started looking SAD.

  2. Hi! I've been wanting to do this so after I saw your post yesterday I bought some seeds. So did you sprinkle soil on top of the seeds or just leave seeds exposed? Thanks!! I'm excited to see it grow!

Thank you for taking the time to leave me a note!
