lemonade & blue chairs

26 May 2011

We don’t have words. You all are amazing. For everyone that has donated, shared on Facebook, Twitter, through email, and word of mouth,
thank you.
As of 9 a.m. eastern this morning, $714 has been contributed to their lemonade fund for the Joplin Tornado victims. Truly inspiring.
Lauren and Hailey have been sending out the recipes in the morning before school and at night~if you donated on Tuesday or Wednesday and haven’t received your lemonade recipe, please let me know and they will get it out. I’ve tried to let them take charge of this as much as possible and they have done great~they have quite the system going.

They will continue selling recipes through Friday, and then are going to close up shop. The donation button is still on the left sidebar (down a little bit)
<--------------------------------------------- if you would like to contribute.

In other blog news, look at the kitchen chairs we found on Craigslist! They were $100 for the whole lot, and how could I pass these up?? $16.67/chair! The oak ones had broken spindles, crusted oatmeal, and were such a pain to wipe down with all of the nooks and crevices.
kitchen chairs  These ones are so easy to wipe down and the kids love them because they have a little bounce to them. They are from the 50’s and really in such great shape:may 2011 022 1  I need to re-finish the kitchen table (oh goodness..add it to the list), but we’re loving the new additions!
Happy Thursday, you wonderful, generous readers~

  1. I grew up with chairs like this in my house.  My mom recovered them every so often, after you get tired of what's covering them, it's easy to unscrew the chair tops and bottoms, recover, then screw back together. She used vinyls when we were small, but now has a cloth fabric on them...we love them, what a lucky find for you.  Our chairs are at least 45+years old and going strong.
