HP Touchsmart 320 Review & Giveaway

We have a new friend in our home. She is sleek, skinny, and stylish with a beautiful profile. She has no extra baggage or wires, vibrant coloring, and she unleashes my kids' creativity with the touch of a finger. She helps get homework done and plays beautiful music. She is super efficient and can multi-task like none other. If she folded laundry, she could probably be nominated for sainthood. What did we ever do without her??

Please meet:

the HP TouchSmart 320PC with AMD VISION technology,

here on 320 Sycamore!!

Is it fate or what?? Truly a relationship meant to be.

I could probably give 320 reasons as to why we are loving this computer, but let’s just talk about a few:

* Simple to set up. I did it all by myself, no help required, in a matter of 10 minutes. Plug in the power cord, plug in the little usb thing for the wireless mouse and keyboard into the back of the screen, and I was good to go!

*ONE power cord. That’s it. It has a wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, and a free standing screen. There are no big boxes, bulky hard drive, or a hot mess of wires. It fits beautifully in a small space.

* HP TouchSmart 320’s touch display. My kids think it’s the coolest ever, and it’s great for those developing motor skills. I also love that you can switch back to the mouse or keyboard with one click if you are not in the mood for the touch screen.

* Pre-loaded educational games. They're usually sold separately but the nice folks at HP loaded them up for us to try out. My little ones love Mozart’s Musical Adventure.

My kids get 30 minutes of screen time a day and these days, they have all been choosing to use it on the computer. My older ones have a ton of fun with the Magic Canvas Graffiti.

In the past week and a half or so, we have used this computer to:

*watch a movie on the 20-inch HD display (it plays blu-rays!), the playback was really smooth with AMD’s VISION technology.

*make a family dvd! On our old computer, I could never figure out how to get our home movies off our camcorder and onto the computer. Every time I would turn on the camcorder, it would flash: “disk full, disk full!” Now, our precious movies are recorded on dvds because the HP Touchsmart 320 is so user friendly, I was able to figure it out. That is a small miracle.

* type up two reports for school. It comes with a great Microsoft Office starter program.

* play fun music for our Halloween party. It has Beats Audio for an awesome listening experience.

*keep in touch with Grandma and Grandpa on the other side of the country with the built in webcam.

*edit pictures and transfer music and files from our old computer in no time at all. This baby is FAST. My husband says it’s because of the 6GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory, but I think she’s magic because the photos are so vibrant and clear on this monitor.

*She’s available now at HP Direct for just $599.99!

The HP Touchsmart 320 is 320 Sycamore’s new best friend :)  And the fantastic news is you have an opportunity to win one! My (2005) HP laptop stopped working last year and his (2006) HP is on the brink of dying! We haven't been able to afford a new one since, but this looks like such a great option! Thank you! xo lesley

  16. We have reverted to using our phones for most of our online stuff since our computer has declared its senility. Please give, oh, give away that gorgeous little piece of technology to us and we can reclaim our dignity as computer owners. (And keep those thrifty home deco hints coming! Love them!)

  17. The HP Touchsmart is sooo needed in our home! As a family of five we would have many uses for this awesome computer. And because it's so sleek and cord-free, we would be able to put it in our kitchen and create a small area for homework, bill-paying, and looking up recipes as I cook. The kitchen is the heart of our home and the HP Touchsmart would fit perfectly!

I NEED that computer.  The laptop I had earlier this year was destroyed accidentally by my 10 year old son.  We lost pictures from a very special time in our family that I hadn't backed up yet.  Now I am reduced to using my college kid's old computer.  I NEED that computer.  By the way?  I love your blog and the way you write.  Your positive take on motherhood and life always remind me why I love being a Mom and a homemaker.  Thanks.

  113. Oh my, I can't tell you how much I need a computer like this. My computer is pretty much on the fritz which is making life pretty frustrating! I've always loved HP computers and my 1-year old daughter (plus another baby on the way) would love the touch screen games when she gets a little older.  And only ONE cord?!! I didn't know that was even a possibility! I'm sold! :)

This HP computer would be a wonderful improvement to my 17" laptop screen.  It would be so easy to use with the touch-screen.  Lovely PC!!!

This would be SO much easier for my little ones to learn to use--making the connection between a mouse and what happens on the screen is so hard for preschoolers!

My computer just quit and I have been shopping for a new one!  This HP would fit all my needs and then some.  I haven't downloaded pictures in years because of how hard it was on the old one.

I would love to have this computer!  I'm working hard to grow my own business and the computer I'm using is slow and often locks up, resulting loss of time and work.

  127. I cannot tell you how much I love the idea of just having ONE cord.  We have more cords and wires and connections than I can count and they all are burried in the back of the armoire that holds our computer.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I just lugged my almost-10-year-old computer downstairs, and hooked up all of the wires, and got it up and running - finally.
My family would love a new computer that doesn't take ages to load!
    No cords, yes please!

  129. Oh Wow! What a fantastic give away! Thank you! The two biggest things that make me want the HP Touchsmart 320, is that it only has 1 cord. I have a small space in my kitchen that this would fit perfectly. And also the touchscreen.  With the advance of smartphones that have touchscreens, it almost feels different to not have one at the computer. How awesome it would be to have that ability on computer as well!

Amazing! We have 2 little ones at home who love to play on the computer, but really struggle with the mouse! This would solve their issues! Not to mention, allowing us to chat with our families who all live far away. Grandma and Grandpas would love it! tarrinbphilpott at hotmail dot com!

  137. My husband was unable to continue working due to health; we have been burdened with  so many financial debts due to his health, my back surgery and debts we found of my mother's after her death that we are trying to pay.  Our computer is on it's last leg and is slower than one can imagine.  Now, I can only access the computer at work and that is so VERY limited.  I would love to have a computer for our grandchildren to use for learning skills and also for me and my husband to have to use.  The touch keypad would be awesome for him to have in his lap.

  162. We are sharing a laptop since our PC is dinosaured downstairs in our basement dungeon, from a flood that has still not been remedied. With 6 in the family (plus older college kids who come home to use the laptop) , including one middle schooler, one high schooler, and one getting ready to start college level, it would be AMAZING to have a good quality HP in our home. Webcam? So cool,  to keep in touch with our three little grandkids we only get to see a few times a year. And did you say EASY? That's my middle name. (OK that sounded wrong, but for real, I am seriously tech challenged and any easy fix to load pictures and movies for ME, let alone ease of doing school reports for the kids, is really A+!

    thanks so much!

I hate cords. HATE them. So the idea of only having one just thrills me. I work two jobs at home (transcription, social media), I've got one kid in college and one who is in grade school but already has her own blog. Between, work, homework, educational games, movies, and music, we'd get a lot of use out of her. Wait...not "her"...Harriet. Yes, her name would be Harriet.

  166. The HP Touchsmart 320 be a perfect fit in our home because it would help our children study or make it easier for our youngest to play a learning game.  It could help their father with his homework as well (paying bills :>)),  and it could help me with my work, writing children's books or, helping me find that "perfect" recipe for that Spaghetti Squash I have in the pantry.
