tip no. 1

One of our very favorite books is Officer Buckle & Gloria.

officer buckle

Officer Buckle and his dog pal Gloria share safety tips and number them, so I thought it would be fun to do here once in awhile.

We’ll see how far I get :)

tip 1

Tip #1:  Put some mixed nuts in a bowl (this one is from the dollar tree) for  simple, lovely autumn decor. Plus, it makes for a great snack that keeps the kids entertained.

It is messy though, so we keep ours next to the garbage with the nutcracker.

My theme this year for the holidays.  Nuts and the earthy look.  Always got nuts in the stockings and dad always cracked them with the nutcracker....hmmm good memories!

  4. I love the idea of numbered tips!  And yes, there were always nuts with a nutcracker--but it was my father who always had them.  I suppose, though, that my father might be close to the age of your grandfather! :)

  14. My grandmother was the one with the nuts! (In a bowl, I mean. Sheesh!) I spent many hours shelling pecans and watching "The Price is Right" on her old remove-free television.
