Here are some kitchen, pantry, and dining ideas from the 2020 Parade of Homes.
This one was from Nelson Quality Construction and had the Altavista Malibu from Hallmark Floors:
This kitchen had 2 islands (from E Builders of Utah + Allison Campbell Design)
with a most amazing butler's pantry off of the kitchen. Look at those windows!

and then the white and tin houses, also from Target dollar spot!! ♥ I couldn’t resist them for $3 and my SIL Natalie in Montana helped me find the ones I was missing at her Target. The bottle tree brushes were $1-$3 from Target, Wal-Mart, and Ikea.
I shared the nativity silhouette in my favorite things already and I just stuck some greens and fairy lights behind it.
I think everything else is pretty much the same, you saw the porch we switched up a bit.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
Here are some fall decorations from my house. I love to see what other people do – it inspires me or makes me think of ways to display things in a way I hadn’t thought of. So here you go:
Mantel above cooktop: pitcher is from Hearth & Hand, wheat is leftover from this project, pumpkins are over 10 years old from Smith & Hawken line, cutting boards mostly from TJ Maxx, platter is from BH&G at Walmart years ago, little pitcher from Magnolia Outlet in Waco (more on that later!!), greenery from IKEA.
Little area between kitchen and family room: clock is like 15 years old from Target, candlesticks from Magnolia outlet in Waco, candles from Costco, plants from local nursery, pic frame from TJ Maxx, beads from Hobby Lobby, metal basket from Magnolia.
Built-ins: almost everything is the same, I don’t think there is anything new except the 90% off tray on the bottom from Hearth & Hand line.
While we were at Magnolia I was inspired by some of their products that had a simple piece of leather on them, so when we were at the mall and Gap had some great belts on clearance so I snagged one to use.
I just put it on a simple IKEA vase with a hard to kill succulent inside.
Here is the other side: The fiddle leaf fig is doing awesome! Let’s see how we do through the winter.
And just by the kitchen door – I think the only thing they still sell is the basket at Target. The silhouette tutorial is here.
and on the way to the mudroom – shelf from Target. Everything in the shelves are from yard sales and gifts, the towel is World Market.
I keep this decor up through Thanksgiving – my fun, spooky stuff is out on the front porch, I’ll share that later! Here is last years, it’s fun to see how it changes. Thanks for coming by~
Hello! Here are some fall pics from around the house. The front porch is pure Halloween but I usually just use items that can go through Thanksgiving in here.
I just added this mug rack by the back patio door. I had originally bought one at Hobby Lobby but I wasn’t in LOVE with it so I returned it and got this one at Amazon. I’ve decided if I have to talk myself into anything these days, I shouldn’t be buying it. The silhouettes are SO easy from this project a few years back. The round frames were lucky finds from a road trip in Virginia, another pair in a thrift store, and the last one I bought on Ebay. The wreath was from a local garden store and the towel is from the Friends & Family sale I posted about last weekend at World Market.
Above the cooktop:
My favorite source for wooden cutting boards is TJMaxx. The platter was from Walmart a couple of years ago.
Built-ins:
-you remember the wool balls I posted about, everything else is from past years.
The wood tray by the dining room table:
The wood beads with tassel I found at Hobby Lobby – use the 40% off coupon!
And I had plenty of pumpkins collected throughout the years plus some dollar spot ones from Target to fill my dough bowl.
I love fall. The colors are out of control this year around here – maybe that long winter and cold spring and crazy hot summer were just testing us to turn around and reward us with a most beautiful autumn?
Here are some inspiring tile designs from the Utah Valley Parade of Homes – they may be helpful if you are remodeling, building, or just dreaming.
I loved the penny tile in the niche and the stripe around combined with the larger tile:
Stone colored subway tile looks great with that black trimmed window:
Blue subway tile was so fun in this boys’ bathroom!
You can never go wrong with classic white subway, I like the diamond pattern that they carried on over to the vanities:
And more classic white with some different floor patterns:
And then we have basement kitchens. I do realize that many of these are larger than most main kitchens, but I liked the different layouts and colors
This was acutally a navy color, although it looks black
Very modern and sleek:
The green was so fun in this one:
The mine was the theater – a fun setup!
We’re back in town after a whirlwind couple of months of traveling, family reunions, and visitors. It’s good to get settled back although I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to summer yet!
