How to Organize Boards on Pinterest * How to Rearrange Pins on Pinterest * How to Move Pins Around

Hello! We just got back from a fun trip to Disney – I shared some pics and thoughts on Instagram. My original Disney post is here – we stayed in the same hotel and it is still our favorite! ♥
Today I wanted to share some fun new discoveries on Pinterest that help simplify and organize. First of all, did you know you can easily sort your boards and just drag and drop? Just go to your boards page, click on “Sort Boards” and then I choose drag and drop and you can just use your mouse to drag them around:
Okay, this one is life changer for me. Go to board you want to organize and click on recipes you want to move into a section. I decided I needed an instant pot section so I clicked on 2 recipes to highlight them in red and then clicked “move.”
Then, all of your boards will come up. I want to add a section to recipes, so I click on “Add section”
Name the section that you want within the board and then click add:
And now you have an Instant Pot section in your recipes!
And now when you go to save another Instant Pot recipe on Pinterest choose recipes and Instant Pot will show up right underneath it:
You can also get rid of a bunch of pins at once by choosing Organize -----> then click on the pins you want to get rid of and hit “Delete” – it will double check with you but it’s such a fast way to clean up your boards.
I hope this has been helpful, I went through and got rid of so many pins on my Caught My Eye board and Courage for the Week that I had already used and remembered a bunch of recipes I wanted to try in my Recipe board – it felt so good!
Hello! I’ve been gradually putting together our mudroom to make it work for our family. It is the most used room in our home because it goes out to the garage, it’s the way we head out every day, and then come home, it’s the drop zone and quickly becomes a disaster, but everyone is at school/work right now so it looks like this:
Hello! I’ve been working on our laundry room to make it more functional, yet a pretty space to be in. C’mon – it’s laundry. It’s already not fun, so I wanted the space to be kind of pleasant to be in. I showed some pictures here of when we first moved in and the picture frame mats to bring some color and cheer in. It’s between the garage and the kitchen so it doesn’t have a window or any natural light, so this was hard to get pictures of!

I bring our laundry (me & my husband’s) out to the kitchen table and fold while I watch something or when the kids get home and they are buzzing around practicing or doing homework. For my kids, each has a different laundry day and I wash it for them during the day. When they come home, they take it to their room to fold. That’s our laundry system! So I didn’t need/want a huge laundry room because I really don’t spend too much time in there.

Then I found these great huge frames at Michaels (back in August, I really do take forever on projects) for $12.99! They still sell them and you can watch for a great sale.

I used to be a big couponer -- get 5 copies of the Sunday paper, do the whole free stuff after rebates at Walgreens & CVS, shop grocery store sales and stack coupons and get stuff practically for free at the grocery store. I had friends that were totally into it with me and it was always a fun time going out with them to get our deals. Honestly, thinking about it all now makes me tired but I still love to save money in other ways. We live in an area that gets lots of coupons and the ones I save are for pizza, car washes, oil changes, etc. for places that we visit anyway or new ones we want to try on a date.
I *love* little projects like these -- not a lot of money, quick satisfaction, only about an hour of time. And then you want to organize everything else in the house!
Our poor hall closet needed some help -- we’ve been shoving odds and ends and I-don’t-know-what-to-do-with-it-things in it since we moved in. Cords, flashlights, phone boxes, tape, pillowcases, file folders, you name it, it was in there.
I think uniform containers can make anything look organized. Cue these bins from the dollar tree! $1 in square or rectangle, perfect for corraling and hiding all of this.
I emptied everything out, divided it up, threw out a bunch, and made some labels out of white cardstock and clear packing tape.
A huge difference! Sometimes I open the door just to look at it when I walk by :)

1. a place to store treasures: a box under the bed, a drawer, a basket that is just for them: no one will touch it and they can bring out their inner pack rat. We usually clean these out after Christmas and sometime in the summer. If they begin to smell, you better find out what’s in there now.
2. a place for books. Use baskets, shelves, racks, bins, ikea spice racks. Books are a must and create the best bedtime bonding.
3. a place to pin stuff up: we love every child to have a bulletin board so they don’t put a million holes in the walls. Hang them behind the door, in a closet, above a desk. A place where they can hang pictures, programs, artwork. In the boys’ room they are in a closet:

Since I’m the queen of organizing :) ha! I’m not, but just some things that have worked for me. What about you -- any great tips for organization in kids’ rooms?
We needed book solutions for the boys’ room! I adore children’s books and they are really hard for me to get rid of, maybe because they bring so many happy, comforting memories of my parents and teachers reading to me and also reading at night with my own kids.
Piano books everywhere. A mess. So, I was thrilled to find some more of these magazine holders, this time at Tuesday Morning. The first ones I found were at TJ Maxx, I have also seen them at Ross. They have been the perfect solution for keeping them corralled -- when they put them away after they practice. Ha! Ask how often that happens. But at least we have a place for them when it’s cleanup time. :)
I just did the number thing again with the years they were born - the font is Engravers MT, my favorite one for numbers.
A little Tuesday organizing tip --
I’ve shared with you how I use calendars to remind myself of yearly sales, things I don’t want to forget. Well, now my phone is my best friend. I didn’t think I would convert but it really is SO handy. I send myself notes and reminders constantly of things to remember, what went well, what I would do differently for random things. Here is one coming for the first Monday in November when I really get serious about Christmas planning --
I jumped on the “3 Gifts of Christmas” bandwagon last year and realized it just wasn’t for me. I’m better with having a budget for each child and doing what I can with it. Plus, we have 2 December birthdays and sometimes we get a larger gift by putting the Christmas/birthday budget together. I tried to pick outfits out for my girls and it was disaster. I thought I knew their tastes, but they are always changing. I should have just given them a gift card, we love to go out shopping together over the Christmas break anyway when everything is on clearance.
Anyway, it ended up being more stressful for me and I was wondering why I was trying to do what everyone else was doing. So I use my phone to send myself helpful messages like -- don’t do the remote control cars you see everywhere again, they were broken by afternoon but the art sets would have been perfect for the boys.

It is also fantastic to remind yourself about great sales. For 2015, I have reminders set for the huge Forever 21 sale 50% off plus free shipping on Columbus Day for jewelry stocking stuffers for the girls. I LOVE the Gap Outlet friends and family in August where it is 40% off everything, plus you can use coupons on top of it. My husband loves Jos A Bank traveler shirts, so I have a reminder set for when the sale usually is. I have a reminder next week that Target Halloween went 90% off on November 5. It saves time and money because instead of randomly shopping, you can know the best sales and wait for them.

The number one tip for garage storage I say is to use vertical space -- use the walls! Here is another wall in the garage we tackled.
Tip: the more items are separated and hung, the easier they are to find (and put away!). Bonus for not finishing the garage? You can see exactly where the studs are. The yard tool hooks are at any hardware/home improvement store and are less than $1 each. They screw right into the studs, or you can take a long board, screw it into the studs, and then attach the hooks to that.
Welcome to Day 1 of 31 Days at 320 Sycamore! We are slowly trying to figure out the best places for things as we unpack, organize, gather, and get rid of stuff in our boxes. The garage is on the top of our list because I hate the feeling of not knowing where things are. Especially when we are rushing out the door to a practice or a game -- I was so tired of wasting time looking for things. So, we decided to do something about it.
I’m trying to slowly make it around to the kids’ rooms to see what can help them get their rooms in order. Hailey didn’t have anything to hang hoodies, bags, belts, etc. so we came up with a quick, easy solution for behind the door -- under $10!
‘Tis the season for baseball hats to be everywhere around our house! We’ve got 4 different baseball teams we’re chasing until the end of June. Hats were all over the floor, the counter, the mudroom bench, speaking of which—here it is! We’re adding a bunch of high and low hooks and baskets for everything, but it’s fun to look at it in our pre-move in clean and white state. Remember when we discussed mudrooms here?
Anyway, I needed a hat intervention quickly and with as little money as possible.
The beauty of unpacking is that you get to remember EVERYTHING you have. And subsequently question why on earth you have it all?? I have been trying to come up with a good solution for LEGO storage. My boys love them, but there are SO many darn little pieces, a pain to put away, a step on them in the middle of the night in your bare feet and you feel like breathing destructive, incinerating dragon breath every last one.
But I love them because they aren’t tv, the ipad, or technology. Girls and boys love them. They use their brains and imaginations to create and for that reason alone we are still friends.
When this baby showed up for $10 on our local online classifieds late one night (like Craigslist, but here they call it ksl classifieds) I screamed and texted as fast as my little fingers could telling her I could bring cash and come first thing in the morning and made it sound like I was as harmless and kind as a mom could be so that she would trust coming to her house. (do you do that when you are trying to score something on Craigslist?) And I got it!! It seemed like a perfect thing to organize and corral all of those LEGOS.

I found these Christmas popcorn canisters at a warehouse for 25 cents each. Someone must have eaten all of the popcorn, perhaps that is why they were so inexpensive?( for locals, it was at NPS Market Square.)
I spray painted them with Rustoleum spray paint in heirloom white (this is still my favorite spray paint: love the nozzle, the coverage, the colors, the way the spray comes out and they aren’t paying me to say any of that) Since this is thin tin, it won’t absorb any of the paint, so be sure to spray very light coats, let dry, spray some more. If you spray too much, it will run.
I was soooo tired of the jumbled mess of coats and backpacks in our entryway. We are renting, so I didn’t want to invest a lot of money or put a bunch of holes in the walls. This is what I came up with, very similar to what we did in our home in Virginia!
We needed some organization around here. I’m missing our back entryway in our previous home with a place for everyone to drop their junk! Our rental has a tiny entryway that is actually part of our living room and I’m trying to come up with some creative methods to keep everything somewhat orderly.

We have lived in some tight spaces. Our first was a one bedroom basement apartment,
and since then we have bulged some houses right to the seams. Right now we are renting a 3 bedroom duplex while we are building and things are feeling a little uncomfortable again, so I thought I’d share some favorite tricks for squeezing out every inch of space.
