There was nothing wrong with our garage: it was white, with classic sunburst inserts in the windows.
Until a baseball went through one and we had (forgot to take a picture!) a big old hole for awhile. I checked on getting a new insert and was told I had to buy them in a set….
Sooooo, I took the opportunity to look into some different inserts :)
I ordered these ones from Ebay because they were cheaper ($84) than anyplace else I checked out. (and I realize I have been talking a lot about them lately, but I we have no deal going on here)
To replace them, you just take the screws off the inside of the garage window and pop the new insert in (make sure you order the right size for your garage door) Oh, wait! And also have someone on the outside of the garage door in case your window falls out that way and smashes to pieces on your driveway and you have to go get a new piece of glass cut. Just sayin’….
While I was at it, I ordered some new hardware for the garage ($28) and lanterns to match the front porch…($54 for both)
The hardware just screws right into the garage door, although I think you can also get magnetic now if you are worried about putting holes in your garage door…
a quick update in less than 2 hours. wahoo!
We painted the shutters black to match the front door~I’ll try to get a picture to show you the whole sha-bang.
Can you believe the difference a garage door makes? I was watching Nate and the real estate expert said garage doors are one of the best updates you can make to your home to get the most bang for your buck. And sometimes, it just means getting out your drill, adding new window inserts and adding some black metal thingy-s. You could SO do this!
