Hello! Just a few updates from around here with some updates on deals I've shared over the past month. Remember the Threshold cabinet that went on sale for $75?? I was skeptical since it had pretty bad reviews but I wanted something different there so I was willing to chance it. I agree that the assembly is a PAIN. It took me 3-4 hours but it was mostly by myself with plenty of interruptions. The drawers don't line up completely on the bottom but I just pull one out to even them up. For $75? I think it's great so if they come back in stock I would grab one -- I love the glass doors and it still stores a lot.
Ok and this Martha Stewart rug at Sam's is amazing for $99! Our old one was getting pretty worn and dingy and I'm in there almost every week during my son's martial arts and so I grabbed one to try. The Provo store in Utah still had quite a few although it looks like they are sold out online. Hopefully it will be good at hiding a lot! It looks completely different from one side of the room than the other.
It is a thin rug though so you'll want a thick rug pad OR we had a happy accident: I just put the new one over the old one to test it out and it covered it perfectly but still gives the cushiness of the old rug so that is going to be our new(old) rug pad.
I picked up this little lamp on clearance for $3.24 at Target in Montana over Christmas break. Regular bulbs were way too bright in it but I tried this soft white 7.5 watt bulb and it gives the perfect little glow day and night. I didn't even know such a thing existed.
These Hearth and Hand grid boxes are a favorite too (also used in the cabinet above to organize markers, crayons, etc.) And of course if you ever see these matte black vases in stock at your store, get them! So, so good.
And if I ever make it out of there without at new pillow it will be a miracle. Studio McGee continues to hit it out of the park with their pillows 😍
I am also sharing a video on Instagram that kind of ties these all together if you want to watch that. Any great finds that you've come across lately??
Thanks for stopping by! P.S. If you haven't signed up for email updates I just switched providers so be sure you are getting 320 Sycamore emails here
shelf styling ideas from the Parade of Homes: how to decorate bookshelves and bookcases, wall and built-ins
27 October 2021
One of the top decorating dilemmas is: how to style my shelves/bookcase/open shelving? Here are some ideas from the Utah Valley Parade of Homes this year that may help you out:

Books, vases, picture frames, baskets are great places to begin. |
![]() |
Also greenery, decorative boxes, wood sculptures |
![]() |
Bowls, more books, vases + greenery plus those great lights! |
![]() |
* did you know you can order book dust jackets that are color coordinated?? |
![]() |
* love the arches on these ones! |
![]() |
* the extra touch of the light at the top makes all the difference |
![]() |
* the main question for this one was how do you get work done when someone is practicing the piano?? |
![]() |
* it's okay to have some empty shelves! |
![]() |
* baskets, clocks, and candles are also great options |
![]() |
* just one sign with lettering and also notice how they layered the picture frame, plate, plant and beads |
![]() |
* I think the blue, leather, and light in here are perfection ♥ |
I hope this gives you some ideas as you look at your shelves. I think you can display things that have meaning in a lovely way. Good luck!

06 October 2021
Hello! Let's look at some living and gathering spaces today from the 2021 Utah Valley Parade of homes. Whether you're looking for a comfy family room, a more formal living room, traditional or modern, here are some ideas:

Some seriously adorable play spaces:
And basement kitchens!
Here are some theater room ideas. This one had bunks on the wall. Not sure you wold be able to sleep with a movie going but maybe it's fun to be in your bed when you fall asleep watching one? We also thought the railing along the snack bar was smart so drinks and plates didn't go sliding over on to peopel on the sofa :)
This "secret entrance" to the theater room was fun!
This gun/hunting room was something:
Golf simulators were popular!
An exercise room with an amazing view:
And fun basketball courts!
