    23 December 2009

I love emails saying, "I was inspired by something you did..." They make my day and I wanted to share some with you. Some have blogs and some don't and sent pictures, but thank you all for sharing them with us!

I love Tidymom's dollar store decor:

Kristen sent me these before and after pictures of her first house~she used our bath as an inspiration:

    mitten holders turned binky clips

    19 December 2009

We are stranded in this big old Eastern storm. Holy snow, batman! Thank goodness we were able to get into a hotel on Friday and we're hoping to be able to head out again on Sunday, but I was looking through my future post file and forgot about these. I hope they're still at the dollar spot.

You can buy these mitten holders at Target's $ Spot for one dollar:

Grab one of your baby's binkies and some of your favorite ribbon from your stash:

You'll also needs some velcro~the only kind I had was with the sticky back. Cut the ribbon to the length you want for your binky holder. You don't want it too long for strangulation concerns. Hot glue a small piece of both sides of the velcro on to the ribbon. If you are a sewer, a few stitches would be even better.

Cut the elastic off of the mitten holder and loop the ribbon through and secure it with hot glue or a few stitches. Now, if you are a mam mommy, could you thread the ribbon through one of the holes?

You've just saved lots of money with 4 cute, custom binky clips made under 10 minutes. No more binkies falling on the ground, rolling under the vending machine, and you having to try to fish it out with a Wendy's straw while risking exposing your backside to the world because it's your baby's favorite one and he won't take a nap without it. Not that it has ever happened to me... ;)

For all of you caught in this storm, I hope you're staying warm, reading this because you have electricity, and enjoying the winter wonderland. Travel safely!

5 things I'm going to miss about Texas...

    18 December 2009

Well, we are on our way. We barely squeezed everything into the truck, and gave away some things at the last minute after a quick scan of "what do you really want to bring?" This last week has been so emotional and just draining, emotionally and physically. I'm never moving again. If I say that we are, y'all get on here and remind me of this post.
Texas is on my mind. We only lived in there (Lubbock) for 2.5 years, but wow, does that place grow on you. Here are some things I'm going to miss about Texas:
