Back to the Dollar Tree...

15 September 2008

I thought my fall decorating fun from the Dollar Tree was over, until I found this cute, cheap project from Joy. She is queen of brilliant beautifulness from the dollar store and spray paint~go check her out! Another blog to fall in love with and follow...

So, back to my Dollar Tree I went to get those frames with 3 openings. Joy printed hers on copied newspaper, but I don't have a copier, so I just printed onto some fall scrapbook paper. I used "Jackinput" font at 236 size.

give your assistant a few candy corns for helping...

assemble...

and tada!

Oh, and while you are there...here are some more things you can spend dollars on...(should the Dollar Tree be paying us for advertising or what??) along with the crows, the wheat, the pumpkins, the candlesticks...

cute frame and another white pumpkin (pinecones are courtesy of my neighbor's tree)

moss balls! (wire basket is from a yard sale) They were just unloading these babies...

Someone on Joy's blog suggested picking up a few extra frames to put JOY in at Christmas...I'm thinking they would be cute spray painted white....oh, the possiblities!

Thanks again, Joy!

  1. Melissa - I'm just putting up my fall stuff and wanted to look at your decorations again to get ideas. Then I ran into this post. I am going to do that today - what a cute idea! I'm going to make a few I think for friends, V.T., etc. Thank you, thank you! (Hopefully our dollar tree has them in stock). Love you!

  7. Hello Again Melissa!

I live around THREE Dollar Tree Stores, in Three Different States...oops, that would be FOUR stores in Three States! That's pretty good since I live in the Eastern Panhandle of WV...but they ALL have the same stuff, sort of. It always amazes hubby & I to go to Maryland, Virginia or even PA, which is yet ANOTHER state, and see how much MORE stuff they offer than what we get here....EVER! So if we see something we BUY it then, if we have the spare cash, which these days, gets a little tight for splurging!

Thanks so much for your comments & compliments, as I do love to see if ANYONE watches for me to write something! LOL! Sometimes I feel as if I am talking to myself, since I am not like the Nester, and other CELEBRITY BLOGGERS! LOL!

  21. I ran to Dollar Tree to pick up some moss balls. I couldn't find any so I said to the manager, "My friend bought some moss balls at her Dollar Tree. Do you have any?" He looked at me like he was crazy--probably because he had no clue what moss balls are. I'm sure he really would have thought I was crazy if he knew "my friend" was someone I've never met in person and only know through blogland. ;~)
That's why I love blogging! It's a great place to meet friends you never would know any other way.

  24. Found your blog through visiting Joy. Beautiful family & lovely home!

Between you, Joy & Susie, I am spending more money at th Dollar Tree this week than I have in an entire year! :-) I am totally enjoying it though. :)

No MOSS balls here in AZ, but plenty of crows, bones, etc. My mind is racing with all of these ideas.

  25. No luck with the moss balls yet. The manager said they MIGHT be on the next shipment that won't be unloaded until the first of next week. I might have to call some DT's in another city. ;~)
