Notecards are pricey these days! I was thrilled to see these Laura Ashley ones in the Dollar Bins at Michaels. I think they are perfect.
Now, I fully realize I am speaking to a very crafty audience here and you all probably make your own cards brimming with cuteness and creativity, but for those of you that would rather pay a dollar and be done, these may be for you. They also had red and brown.
Ahem, did you see the hydrangeas I sneaked in the notecard picture that really have nothing to do with notecards?
We gots hydrangeas now!!
I didn’t have one thing to do with them. I just looked over the deck one day and had to do a double take.
Thank you previous owners for planting things I love. That I probably would have killed if I attempted it myself.
Are you a card buyer or a card maker??
I am a card buyer most days - but I also love making cute little tags to attach for gifts giving. It seems like most cards that you "make" are hard to mail anyhow with all the brads and do-dads on them!
ReplyDeleteYour hydrangeas are gorgeous! I'm still waiting on mine!
I'm a card buyer! For $1.00, it's not really worth the time, supplies and effort unless the card is a gift in and of itself.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a card buyer, but envious of those talented card makers :)
ReplyDeleteI'm envious of them too...I have friends and relatives that make amazing cards.
ReplyDeleteI look in the same $1 spot at Michaels as you do as it is not worth my time to make them. When I get them, I feel so guilty throwing them away too knowing lots of time has been spent on them.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy making cards with leftover scraps of paper and old recycled cards...but how can you beat a dollar for those cute cards! I might add a little somethin somethin to them to make them my own.
ReplyDeleteYour hydrangeas are beautiful! Always wanted one of those!
I am a card buyer, especially for $1! But more importantly, I am a hydrangea lover and yours are beautiful! They make me smile. Mine are starting to fade :(
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my Dollar Section at Michaels...always brimming with shabby chic goodness! Thanks for sharing your find!! xo
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a card buyer. I don't know anyone that has time to make cards. The hydrangeas are beautiful. We're planting some this year; hoping all goes well with them.
ReplyDeleteCard buyer and maker...depends on my mood and time.
ReplyDeleteLove the hydrangeas!
This is too funny!! I was in line and saw the dollar Laura Ashley and bought the notecards and pencils...I left there very excited. Ahh, the simple things in life.
ReplyDeleteLove those Laura Ashleys ! I found some brown and gold ones last fall and bought about 3 packs of them. So.... yep, I'm a total card buyer and rare card maker, although I love them !!!
ReplyDeleteI confess, since there are only so many hours in the day, I'd rather be painting, reupholstering, or decorating than making cards. BUT, that said, when someone sends me a handmade card, I ALWAYS keep it, whereas if I recieve a storebought with a simple signature, um.... might end up in the garbage. (Did I just say that?)
xo

How perfect are those cards for you? They remind me of your laundry room makeover. :) I tend to buy the cards. I have a whole room of scrapbooking supplies but it just takes way too much time for me.
ReplyDeleteI just raided their dollar bins yesterday. Its perfect to hoarde things away for last minute gifts and what not. I scored some cute nautical themed things for myself.
ReplyDeleteI am both. I love the emotion behind a hand-made card, so I try to make them whenever possible. But I also love having some store-made ones on hand in a pinch. And there are so many adorable store-made ones nowadays it's easy to find cute and cheap ones. Love the ones you found!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a card buyer. I have an old dresser in my entry that I have filled and organized with cards for each holiday and then tons of thank you card boxes. I have my own Hallmark right at home! So I wonder what my excuse is for forgetting to send them?
ReplyDeleteA huge card maker! $2-5 a card?! Ridiculous! ;o) Although, a few weeks ago, I did splurge and buy a birthday card and 3 fathers day cards! Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do... didn't like buying them and spending $15 on cards, but I didn't have time to make!
ReplyDeleteBTW, love love love your blog!
I've been getting my notecards from Michaels bins for years. They are great for any occasion, and I love that they're so cheap!!!
ReplyDeleteI do both. I really enjoy making my own cards. I also love to pick up the cute ones from the dollar bins at Michaels. I love the ones from your post. I alos love the hydrangeras. I have one bush and can't wait until it blooms every year.
ReplyDeleteI am both -- love to make them, but let's face it, sometimes there is just not the time. $ bin at Michael's is a favorite -- they always seem to have something cute I can stick in my stash.
ReplyDeleteLove the Hydrangeas! My Hubby planted a small one in our yard last weekend. :) I am definitely a card maker. LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI'm a card buyer even though I'm an avid scrapbooker. (go figure)
ReplyDeleteI really want hydrangeas! Maybe next year.
The flowers and cards are gorgeous! Love stocking up on cards out of the $1 section, thanks for the tip :)
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat the dollar bin at Michaels! The things you can do with notecards! Your hydrangeas are simply gorgeous as well!! Have a great sunny day!
ReplyDeleteThese days I'm a card buyer. Used to be card maker. If I can find beautiful cards for a $1? What's not to love about that?
ReplyDeleteI'm a card buyer and proud of it. I just don't have what it takes or the patience to make my own. You've found some lovely notecards, might have to make a trip to Micheals, my stash is getting a little low.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, one of my personal favorites also.
I am both. And I'm gonna get some of these green cards and put some black silhouette images on them for Halloween. Dollar cards at Michaels are great for turning into seasonal cards!
ReplyDeleteAhh I will be running to Michael's today to pick up those adorable note cards!!!! I'm obsessed with note cards and cocktail napkins for some reason! LOVE LOVE LOVE the print and reading your blog thanks :)The hydrangeas are gorgeous :D You must be doing something right! I have a brown thumb ha ha
ReplyDeleteYOU GOTS HYDRANGEAS! And they're just beautiful. Good for you!!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the heads-up on the notecards. I'm a buyer. But I must say that those Laura Ashley cards look like they'd make lovely backdrops for a simple little embellishment. I might have to pick up some of those and add a little something to the front. I have one paper punch (seriously--only one). Maybe I could stamp a cute little design on cardstock, then punch it out with my punch, then glue it onto the front of one of those cards.
Or maybe I'll be lucky if I make it to Marshall's and pick up a pack of those beautiful cards. :)
I am a note maker but lately I have been a note buyer:) I love the flowers. They are my favorite. We had beautiful purple ones in Georgia.
ReplyDeleteCard buyer for sure! Those are adorable for only one dollar! Perfect! I need to go get some myself.
ReplyDeleteCard buyer - love the ones in the dollar bins at Michael's. Is it just me, but, even as a devotee of Tar-jhay, I find I like the dollar bins at Michael's a lot better.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adore the hydrangeas and really wish they grew in Texas!
I am in Seattle right now and am enjoying the blooms I see in many garderns as we drive around town.
Hmm..not sure how I missed this post! I buy cards, and I love cards from the $1 section at JoAnns, Michaels, or Target. Those are cute! Your hydrangeas look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI am both! I like to make cards..simple cards...with the Mary Engelbreit calendar I have on my desk. When I tear off the days that are over, I save the pictures that I like and keep them to make cards. But, when in a hurry...I buy. :) Your flowers are lovely! Mine are growing right now as we speak. Have a lovely day!
