candy jar .95 at Goodwill (I already had the baseballs and I think I’m going to put this in my boys’ room but I’m always experimenting)
This lamp was also from the Goodwill $2.95. I’m not sure if I’m going to paint it or leave it….we’ll see.
Framed prints, .45 each at the Goodwill. I’m not sure where these are going yet, but I love to buy matching frames (with mats!) for groupings.
A brand spankin’ new lampshade from Target at the Goodwill. $2.95
Blue mason jars! 2 for $5 at a roadside yard sale. Is that a good price?? I have never come across any, so I didn’t want to let them go….
And finally, a blue chair for $10. She needs a little love and paint, but I think she’ll be a keeper. Beth has got me all scared about bed bugs. I’m going to bag her up for a few days and then vacuum and clean her to be sure no unwanted friends come inside.
Grand Total for the month: $23.65
I’m joining Rhoda’s party today! C’mon over for the fun :)
I’ve found I’ve slowed waaaay down with yardsales this summer…just lots of other plans and summer stuff going on. What about you?
I've only seen the blue Ball jars for $25-30. So 2 for $5 is a great deal! You had a great day!
ReplyDeleteGood finds! I’m with you……if I see matching frames I snatch them up even if I don’t have a need for them at the time. If they have mats that’s just icing in on the cake. I have a little corner in one of our extra closets where I store them and I usually do end up using them!
ReplyDeleteGreat deal on the ball jars and the lampshade!
Happy Thrifting

Great finds! Ive got to go to GW one day. Thats a pretty good price for those jars! I have found some for $.25-$3, but Ive seen plenty for far more!
ReplyDeleteI miss Goodwill we only have restore, and they don't have all the nick knacks I love. I have a walnut bowl filled with cricket balls on my coffee table. A bit of whimsy goes a long way.
ReplyDeletegreat finds. i really like the chair.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! The chair is a little creepy to me...only because you mentioned bugs! I'm sure you will do something great with it!
ReplyDeleteWatch out for the bed bugs and do some research on them, I know one of my friends had an infestation and the bug sprayer told her that everything needed to be washed and dried, heated to 135 degrees (I think) and if you couldn't wash or heat it needed to be sealed and packed away for 12 or 18 months. I hope you don't have any though!
ReplyDeleteI have totally got to start shopping at Goodwill...you always find such great things there! I want new lamps for our living room & playroom now that I'm done painting and am going to check there first!
ReplyDeleteAwesome finds!!! I love your idea of displaying baseballs in the cookie jar- so cute for a boys room. Also, I think that wood part of that lamp would look fabulous painted red! Love, love, love the blue chair-I'm so jealous! I cant wait to see what you do to her! And you got a screamin' deal on those mason jars. I paid $10 each for mine and from what I've seen even that was a pretty good deal so you definitely scored!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a lamp like that! You found some good stuff. I think you got a pretty good deal on the jars. I've paid $10 for jars with glass lids before.
ReplyDeleteThe bedbug story really creeped me out! I'm seriously going to think twice and probably 4 or 5 times before buying used upholstered furniture now.
I think you got a great deal on the blue jars! What a great idea to but baseballs in the candy jar - love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds you made! I love the blue chair and the mason jars! What a deal on the lampshade!
ReplyDeleteFantastic deals, Melissa! I wish I could head over the mountains to be your yard sale buddy. I need one too. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the candy jar. I'm soooo *iffy* now with upholstered stuff after reading Beth's post. I'm even worried about buying clothes for the girls at the annual local kids' consignment sale, but maybe if I wash everything a couple of times???
i just picked up some blue ball jars too at a garage sale and LOVE them. love putting fresh flowers in them right now...and the best part...$4.00 for both of them!
ReplyDeletelove all of your finds!
Love all of your great finds and I totally adore your chair. I am on the hunt for a fabulous chair, and yours is fabulous. Great job. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHey, Melissa, I've missed you too! I just can't keep up with everybody any more. I try & it never happens. So, I think a lot of my friends don't leave me comments anymore. :(
ReplyDeleteAnyway, great finds!! I love that chair, that is going to be so cute redone in some snazzy fabric. And yes, you got a great deal on the blue jars. So glad you joined this week.
Great finds! I need to start shopping Goodwill again.
ReplyDeleteLove the new lampshade, and IDK if that is a good price but I would have got them too!
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds! I think you got a terrific deal on the blue jars. I would like to find a few of those myself.
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing price for the jars. I got some for 50% off that ended up being $3.25 each, which was a great price here. I love the baseballs in the jar. That would look so cute in my boys room.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had time to yard sale at all this summer. It's so frustrating. Maybe I'll catch a few good ones still. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those blue mason jars, and the chair will definitely be a beauty! Great price too.
Blessings!
Love that style chair...what color are you going to paint it?
ReplyDeleteWow... you have had a great month of finds! I haven't had much time to go to garage sales this summer... bummer! :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen those jars lately for about $10-$12 each, so great find!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the baseballs. We have two 'vintage' baseballs and I'm looking for ideas.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!
Just where is your Goodwill ? Those are terrific buys.
ReplyDeleteOurs is ok, but nothing really interesting there. I know, imagination, butI just bring things there.
Now there is one on the other side of the city and they put their summer things out in front to lure people in and I bet it's filled in there. They had a white rocker out front that was so tempting.........
I am so jealous of your Goodwill! The ones we have here are so expensive! They're as expensive as the antique malls sometimes. In fact, I went to the one in Chattanooga TN and walked out after 5 minutes because I was aghast at the prices! I'm talking a picture frame for $5.. an 8x10... So yeah.. jealous lol You got some great items :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the blue jars on etsy for 15$ each. You have some great finds!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, I'm the bed bug blogger :). I think I have everyone scared now! But seriously better to be scared than to have to go through what we've been through these past several months.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your finds! (And your hydrangeas too. :)
Those are some super great and thrifty finds! Way to go!! I'm loving the jars - they're so colorful!

You found some super items. I love shopping yard sales and thrift stores.
ReplyDeleteWonderful finds, Melissa! Good for you!!
ReplyDeleteI love that chair. You're smart to be very careful about bedbugs--better safe than sorry. But that's a great find!
What great deals you have!
ReplyDeleteLove the chair!
Yay for your new treasures! I've been buying those jars too. I've bought them from $1 to $5, but I see them $7 and up to $25!
ReplyDeleteGreat Finds! I love the candy jar idea for your sons room. The flowers look gorgeous in the Mason Jars. I love shopping Goodwill and yard sales.
ReplyDeleteAnnette

ReplyDeleteLOVE the chair! You found some real goodies here.

Hello sweet Melissa - love your finds! Especially that blue chair. Can't wait to see what you do with it! I've never come across any blue jars either, but I would have paid $5/for both too!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Oh my goodness. I am LOVING the baseballs in the candy jar. SOOO cute! What great finds! I am pregnant and due in 3 weeks, so my "get out and find good deals" mojo has definitely been replaced with a new "lie around and cuddle my daughter while we watch Cinderella" mojo! ha! But seeing all your finds makes me want to get back out there!
ReplyDeleteLove that lamp shade. I'm shopping for one like that myself. And I also got a chair like yours at a thrift store. I usually reupholster them but I had this one professionally cleaned. So far so good.
