I had a little itch to switch some things around this weekend…
We (well, my husband) moved my $5 light fixture to the hallway. I still love it, but wanted something a little more substantial for the entryway.
the Valspar metallic clearance spray paint I used here (do you ever start spray painting and remember that you forgot to take a picture??)
When I spray paint chandeliers, I take the white plastic candle holder covers off, cover the wire part with tin foil, rig it up from my garage door track thing and finish spraying:
The most expensive part were the lampshades from Lowes ($5 a pop) I loved how Layla trimmed hers out with jute trim..I may order some?
Total Cost:
Chandelier from Goodwill: $2.95
Spray Paint: $1.99 clearance at Michaels
Shades: $5 X 5 = $25
Total: $30
It is SO Monday around here. I like looking at the chandelier and remembering that I did something productive this weekend…because today feels like a complete flop.
Miss Irene sure made a big mess~hoping you all are safe and sound…
Wow, that looks awesome! You really have a great eye -- I would never imagine that goodwill chandilier turning out so well!
ReplyDeleteLowes in the lamp shade aisle in lighting~here is a link: http://www.lowes.com/pd_235437-21555-PSH0011_4294871186_4294937087?productId=1065795&Ns=p_product_price|1&pl=1¤tURL=/pl_Lamps%2Band%2BShades_4294871186_4294937087_
ReplyDeleteI always start painting before taking the picture. All. The. Time. :)
ReplyDeleteDid Lowes have a sale on the shades or are they always that cheap??
I like it! the jute trim would be a great addition too, but it's definitely pretty cute as is!
ReplyDeleteI am SO glad to know that I'm not the only one who's had a bit of bomb Monday. Yesterday I was on TWO college campuses (two older sons) and today my BABY boy started high school. Today I've mostly been eating worms, it seems. I need to get myself in gear!
ReplyDeleteI love it! And the price can't be beat. Too bad our Goodwill never has anything lie that :(
ReplyDeleteBecky~I didn't think of that, but most people probably find it a little odd that I am a chandelier painter :) A tree branch is a fabulous idea!
