Hello, all! It’s kind of hard to come back after a break, so I’m just going to ease into it today with tidbits :)
The break was so nice and relaxing, it was sad for us all to see it end (the kids just started school yesterday!) I do have to say, it’s nice to have some schedule to the day though. The boys begged to keep their little trees up and I don’t mind seeing this little reminder.
THESE (Jan, Feb!) are the months to get things done! When it’s cold and dreary outside, it’s the perfect time to make the most of inside. My goal for this month? Finish Hailey’s room! More coming on that…
Speaking of fridges, my kids asked me why we don’t buy big carrots. I’ve been buying baby carrots forever and just get into my grocery store rut, I guess. It *is* more fun to chomp on a big carrot, isn’t it?
So sad that these two have to compete against each other. Loved them both~why couldn’t they have been in different years and both have won??
Happy Thursday~hope you all are doing well!
So funny, I was just thinking that we've been buying mini carrots for my daughter's entire life -- I'm not sure that she'd recognize a big one!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so with you on the Why?..when it comes to Hugh Jackman and Daniel Day Lewis....but I have a trifecta for a Why?....I loved Bradley Cooper too. What's a girl to do?
ReplyDeleteYay you're back!! Now in this showdown - both were superb. But if there's only one winner...DDL just nailed Lincoln. The Oscar is his. (even though HJ has my heart!)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back. If you haven't seen it yet, go see Les Miserables. It was beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI just came back from seeing Les Mis and I thought it was absolutely BRILLIANT! I haven't been that swept up in a movie since I saw Ghandi many years back. Hugh Jackman is my idea of perfection and he did a phenomenal job. I'd see the move 5 more times -- it was that majestic. All of the acting was incredible, in fact. I cried throughout the entire movie because the emotions portrayed were so powerful.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I saw Lincoln over the holidays and LOVED it too. Daniel Day Lewis is an incredibly gifted actor and he did a masterful job playing Lincoln. I've had a huge crush on him since I saw him in the Last of the Mohicans. Lincoln will definitely stand the test of test as a stellar performance by DDL and an excellent film.
Although DDL's performance was definitely oscar-worthy, I think Les Mis will sweep the Oscars because of the "grandeur" of the entire experience.
Lastly, who knew Russell Crowe, Eddie Redmayne and Amanda Seyfried could sing so well?
While I'm doling out praise, let me say that I LOVE this blog!!!
my kids thought it was such a treat, and we NEVER had mini carrots when I was young :)
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to have to agree with you on this one. I thinking it will go to DDL!
ReplyDeleteOMG...... We got a new frig about 4 years ago.... We have replaced the tracks 4 times... ( the fourth one just broke about 2 weeks ago...) I'm done now. I will put a plastic bin in their place.
