Happy 2014! The break went by way too fast for me. In fact, I *assumed* Christmas break lasts until the Monday after New Years, right? Wrong! We got the automated phone call from the school on Thursday morning wondering where our kids were when we were lounging around in our pajamas watching dumb youtube videos and making some important cleaning/ laundry plans for the day. I had to double check the school website to make sure it wasn’t a cruel joke and then scrambled to get everyone dressed, somewhat presentable and out the door, kind of like a Home Alone “we slept in!” We are still adjusting to this place.
We gorged ourselves in December with holiday treats and festivities and eating out on vacation while visiting Grandma and Grandpa, but we are trying a no sugar January – the whole family! Right now, I’m wondering whose dumb idea this was anyway but mostly I want a nice soft warm chocolate chip cookie (or the dough!) more than about anything. I tried a skinny frosty shake that I had pinned that was supposed to taste JUST like a real frosty, but I am sad to report that it did NOT. It wasn’t bad, but to say it tasted just like a Frosty was kind of blasphemous. The good news is that fruit has never tasted so good, so maybe this will have a happy ending when we see how addicted to sugar we are and we begin to make some some healthier choices.
Anyway! We are still building—we got about 3 weeks behind when we had a huge snow and then long cold snap, we had to wait until right before Christmas for them to pour the foundation, but the good news is that they are framing now and things should be moving right along. The bad news is that we have a hundred decisions to make in the next few weeks so I don’t hold anything up after framing and I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. I pretty much took the whole month of December off in terms of finalizing any decisions, so I’m paying for it now. So today, we’re talking cabinets. Who ever KNEW there were so many different styles?? Not me. I just want a simple, classic look. Like our last 2 kitchens (here and here) we are doing white cabinets, but I’ve always just painted them, not picked out from scratch. Look at the choices!
I’ve narrowed it three basic styles, which would are all included in our building allowance…so my question to you is which do you think is most classic and will stand the test of time? Will any scream 2014!! in ten years?
1. recessed panel with a little bit of a bevel edge
2. shaker panel
3. raised panel
Which would you pick? I love hearing your thoughts because you always bring up things I would have never thought of…
Happy Tuesday ~ I’m off to find a delicious sugar free snack.
P.S. Thank you to everyone that let me know that my search box is broken on my blog and my comments are whacked sometimes, working on getting them fixed…don’t know what happened??
I have style #3 in white and love them!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you could go wrong with any of them, but currently my "dream kitchen" would be white shaker cabinets with a white subway tile backsplash. Good luck with the decisions!! :)
ReplyDeleteI like #1 the best. The Shaker style is also nice, but #3 is a tad traditional- I think the other two could be pushed into any number of styles....
ReplyDelete#1 looks more timeless to me. Good luck and enjoy the process!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha, we were back in school Thursday too, I wish we could have waited until Monday. Each school district does it different. You were good to get them all ready and send them off. I probably would have just called it a sick day :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the cabinets, I like number 3, I think it is the most classic and timeless look. I wish we had raised panels. Ours are recessed and they look and feel cheap to me
We totally would have, but we're already cutting it close on days missed...
DeleteI like 1 and 2 but really like 2 the best. How exciting!
ReplyDelete#1 looks the best to me. Simple and classic with a little bit of interest for the eye.
ReplyDeleteI vote for #1!
ReplyDeleteI like #1 the best, and #3 is my second choice.
ReplyDeleteI love #2, but perhaps that's because I've always had raised panel cabinets, and the change to Shaker style is appealing because it's different than what I'm used to. :-)
ReplyDeleteHad to giggle at your Home Alone moment - we were supposed to go back yesterday, but we're on snow day #2!
#2!all the way! It is timeless and has a presence the other two don't have.
ReplyDeleteIt's a no brainer to me -- #2! Options 1 and 3 look a bit dated in my opinion. I like how shaker style cabinets are more transitional and compliment either a contemporary home decor as well as traditional/transitional. We finished building a home a few months ago and we went with white inlaid shaker-style cabinet doors. I don't regret it a bit.
ReplyDeleteI love #1 !! It seems classic and doesn't really lend to one era or style.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
I love #2...classic and clean!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI would pick #1. #3 is too traditional and #2 would have food resting on the little ledge with the way I cook.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh . . . we did the same thing one year after Christmas, though we were out playing in the cul-de-sac and didn't realize it was a school day until the bus started bringing the high school kids home . . . woops!
ReplyDeleteAs for the cabinets, and while I think #3 is most traditional, I've had those, and the raised part shows a lot of dust, especially on white cabinets, so I'd go with either of the other 2, less dusting = more enjoying your home. Just my 2cents
I like #1 & #3 the best, but I'm leaning towards #1 -- it seems to be a combination of #2 & #3. I'm excited to see your end result!
ReplyDeleteWe have #3, and have had them for 20+ years (custom when we built our home)...they are classic and never go out of style. They go with any type of decor, traditional, modern, country, etc.
ReplyDeleteRaised Panel is particularly elegant and simple. It's sort of timeless and can give the room a bit of old elegance or even a fancy twist to a more modern room. And of course, white is always timeless. Keep up the good work, love the blog!
ReplyDeleteThe most timeless are the #3 raised panel cabinets.
ReplyDeleteI like the simple shaker style of #2.
ReplyDeleteI like the Shaker style #2 the best, and it looks like it would be easiest to keep clean. My second choice is #1
ReplyDelete#1 is my favorite. No real reason, it just is!
ReplyDelete#3 are my fav -- for some reason the profile of the center coming towards you versus being flat tells my eye the cabinet is full which is more homey. Isn't that weird?!
ReplyDeleteI vote for #3! But what do I know?!?:!
ReplyDeleteI vote #3! Very classic...
ReplyDelete#2 Chunky and will never be outdated in my opinion. That's it from Billings, Melissa
ReplyDeleteNumber 2 is my favorite, but I like #1 also. I have #3 and it seems a little 70ish to me.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is so not going to help because you have such a multitude of opinions here, but I adore #2, the Shaker panel. Something that simple never goes out of style.
ReplyDeleteI vote #1 or #2. I think either would be fine over time!
ReplyDeleteLove #1 and #3 is nice too.
ReplyDeleteI think you should pick what you love and not worry about anything else. 5 years ago we built and house and added gray paint and gray carpet. At that time, everyone was painting with lots of color and using brown carpet. I had to laugh when I started seeing all the gray in the blog world.
ReplyDeleteI would go with #3. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks so much for featuring my St. Patrick's Day banner!
ReplyDeleteTania
Wow! I would love this to prove to my husband that I'm actually getting a workout chasing my children!:)
ReplyDeleteLoved this year at a glance... especially the kitchen reveal! We did a similar round up of top posts over at SylvanParkLife.blogspot.com!
ReplyDeleteThank you so so much for the post. I read it after reading your top posts for 2013. Lately, and even today, I've been frustrated with myself for not making any money and contributing to our family's finances. I have my bachelors in accounting and a few little things have come along but I've never felt right about leaving my two young children for any length of time. When I read sister becks quote tonight, I remembered why I haven't felt right about leaving them. So thank you. You are an answer to my prayers.
ReplyDeleteHa! They are all great pins for sure.
ReplyDeleteMy staples wouldn't print this image or another one that I found online due to copyright issues. :-( Anyone order prints online from somewhere else?
ReplyDeleteGreat roundup. My daughter is going to try the last one!! She caught an awful Christmas cold.
ReplyDeleteMelissa, I love your silhouette hooks - such a great idea! Happy New Year - you are definitely someone to follow in 2014.
ReplyDeleteI somehow missed the death star the first time and that thing is WICKED AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteYour experience really hits close to home Melissa, thank you so much for this series and sharing your story! I listened to that urging to wait too and am so glad I did. Coming up on two years, I love what I do now. Wishing you a blessed & abundant New Year :)

ReplyDeleteThis would be great to have.....the perfect tool to keep me moivated.
ReplyDeleteI have the same blackhead problem you have. This product has peaked my interest after your demo.
ReplyDeleteInsanity is a great group on DVD's. You can buy them used on ebay. It is definitely the most intense thing I have ever done. If you want to take it up a notch from Jillian, this is definitely the way to go!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific tool! I need this.
ReplyDeleteI would love this! It has so many features that my heart rate monitor from Nike doesn't have.
ReplyDeleteThis is very interesting. I just try to go to sleep at the same time every night.
ReplyDeleteWow, I have never seen a scale that did this much for you, it would be so much easier than plugging everything into a computer and looking up individually (which is what I am doing now). Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is super cute! I love how you reused something you already have!! Great Job! I totally need to decorate for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteYou LOST 7 pounds!!! 7 pounds!! That.is.awesome!! ARe you kidding! Wooo HOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteI need this because I just started working out again.
ReplyDeletethat is awesome! I would LOVE to get something like that...after having 2 children and not very motivated to work out, it is time to start shedding some pounds! I deserve it and and my husband deserves to have a good looking wife! :)
ReplyDeleteI can been considering getting one of these. I am glad to hear you liked it!
ReplyDeleteKelly: My heart rate monitor died a year ago and I would love this to replace it!
ReplyDeleteI need a new one! my current one got hijacked by my husband who is training for a triathalon. Yes please!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I've been in the market for a HRM for a while now. I just couldn't spend the extra dollars on this. This is an excellent tool to help get you to your target heart rate while working out. Oh gosh I hope it's me!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a heart rate monitor. I am expecting a baby in April, and then will need to get my butt back in shape!
ReplyDeleteI have a very sedintary job and need to find a safe way to track my heart rate. This monitor would be great!
ReplyDeleteOoh sounds fun! I'd love to win and try this out.
ReplyDeleteGoing to bed at the same time every night.
ReplyDeletemrsdresses at gmail dot com
You had me at pumice :) I would love this so much!! burkmanj@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE this HRM because it would be so helpful for my spin classes!
ReplyDeleteI have another brand that is so complex I never use it. This one looks good and easy to use. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI have had my eye on something like this, but the price has been holding me back! I would love to win this!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for a good food scale...thanks for the look at this one. And thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Melissa! I would love this monitor as I have heart condition and pacemaker. This would give me peace of mind as I exercise and try to stay active.
ReplyDeleteI really need to get serious about my health, and this is the perfect jump start!
ReplyDeleteThose things are so helpful! That one looks super cool too!
ReplyDeletesteps and or miles!
ReplyDeleteI sooooo need something to get me motivated to run again! My husband and I participated in a half marathon in October (it was our very first run ever!) and I haven't ran since. Not.One.Time. Would love to win this!
ReplyDeleteWow, awesome - I need or should I say I would Love this, it's so much easier to track things for you
ReplyDeleteThis would be great, I've been trying to get back in shape since having my son 5 months ago!!
ReplyDeleteI would love ths watch. I just started back to running again!
ReplyDeletewould love one of these! just signed up for my 1st Marathon-this would definitely help me finish!! ;D
ReplyDeleteI would love to have one of these heart rate monitors to use while cycling. It's a helpful tool to get motivated to train harder and more efficiently.
ReplyDeleteTo win this giveaway would be a real blessing. I have had 4 little babies in 5 years and my body is showing it! I have begun working out and tracking my food in a journal, but I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have this scale to know EXACTLY what I am eating, instead of guessing. Thanks for the opportunity to enter! I want to be my healthiest self again so I can be the best mommy to my kids and the best wife my husband deserves.
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome! My husband would love it!
ReplyDeletetweeted about your giveaway here... https://twitter.com/#!/shylarohrer
ReplyDeleteI quit keeping track of my weight when my scale broke! My weight is out of sight, out of mind.... I need this!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this! I have been working out (elliptical) 4-5 days a week and it feels like I gain a pound or two every time I step on the scale! My husband says it's muscle (yeah, right) and I am so discouraged. Maybe I need some technical help from this gadget:)
ReplyDeleteI think this would be great for me because it includes BMI! That is my goal to be in the normal range, so that would help so much!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are in our 60's and it's a good thing to be aware of any fluctuations in our weight. . . . Thanks for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteOur current scale requires complex math in order to figure out your real weight, and I'm usually not up for the challenge of figuring out where the hand is hitting the pounds marker, then subtracting 14.3 early in the morning... this would be cool...
ReplyDeleteI tweeted!

The only time I step on the scale is at the doctor's office. Now that I am officially large enough to actually be a contestant on the Biggest Loser and my kids have started suggested that I audition.....I would love to have the opportunity to be a Big Loser in my own bathroom with my own magical Withings Smart Body Scale! I am not into public humiliation....or puking!
ReplyDeleteThis scale would be a great thing for me with all the extra information it gives besides your actual weight. Everyone needs to learn more about their body!
ReplyDeleteAfter having three children within three years, I had sworn off having a scale in my house. The fluctuation in weight was just too much for me! But now my baby is three, and it's time to have a better gauge on my body. This would be a cool addition to our home and new year's goal.
ReplyDeleteI have been considering a heart rate monitor for a few weeks now. I'd love to win!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted about this awesome giveaway here: http://bit.ly/yy2c1Z
ReplyDelete@kiniwoman
Hmm? Why would a woman that just had a 10-pound baby POSSIBLY want such a fabulous scale? :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a way to easily track both my weight and BMI. Plus, charts just make things look much prettier.
ReplyDeleteI WANT THIS!!!! My aunt has one and loves it! My sister is getting married in march and I need to lose some weight for it. Please pick me!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to know my weight and BMI together and I lost my scale in our house fire in July so I am on the lookout for a new one and this one looks great. Thanks for the opportunity to win it.
ReplyDeleteBMI even?! How cool is that! I'd love a scale that actually tells me my true weight!
ReplyDeleteI guess being truly accurate in a weight loss could be a big plus in motivation for me! That is, of course, if it IS a loss! LOL So maybe I'll win this sucker and I'll be even more willing to eat my veggies~ Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI am on a mission to get my rear in shape. This would be great for helping me with that process. We don't even own a scale right now.
ReplyDeleteThis scale would be good for me because the scale I have now is from my blind grandma. It actually calls out your weight in an unbelievably loud voice. Good scale if you want your neighbors to know how much you weigh.
ReplyDeleteThis would help us get healthier, help medically and help us to live long healthy lives and be around for our adorable children. It will inspire friends and family to hopefully buy one and improve their lives as well. Thank you for offering this giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteTime to lose the baby weight (and the little extra I had before baby) - she is almost 6 months after all.
ReplyDeleteI joined a new gym that doesn't have scales sitting around. I now have no idea how much I weigh, and it's really bothering me! I know that a number on a scale isn't the bottom line, but when I gain a few pounds, seeing the number on the scale go up helps me get back on track. It'd also be nice to know my BMI and body fat percentage so that I can keep things in perspective and adjust my workouts accordingly.
ReplyDeleteIt would be great for me because I like to weigh myself CONSTANTLY and it would be nice if it would track!
ReplyDeleteI added the give-away to my side-bar, Melissa! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis thing is AMAZING! I'm kinda psycho about the scale (hello, several times a day) so it would be great to be able to look at how my weigh-ins compare. I love my gadgets too...I can't believe they make scales with wifi...what will they think of next? :D
ReplyDeleteI'm a dietitian, and I actually don't own a scale! Numbers like this would be meaningful and useful for me, especially since I'm trying to lose some post-baby weight!
ReplyDeleteI recently started a weight lose program. I can tell I lost some weight & my daughter asked me who much I had lost. I told her I do not know as I do not own scales. I told her I could tell as my jeans were not as snug on me. She said "well, no one is going to ask you how your jeans feel, they are going to ask in lbs". She suggested I go weigh myself at Walmart and at the end of the month weigh myself again. I told her I didn't like the idea of going to Walmart & hear on the intercom "Attention Walmart shoppers, lady in asile 10 is using the scales without paying, should we ask her to come back at the end of the month to see her progress", lol. I really would love to keep track of my progress & win this giveaway. Thanks bunches!
ReplyDeleteI am a life long food tracker - even through my pregnancies I track food. It is a habit and this would just add to my obsession!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have one of these as I am involved in a weight loss challenge right now with a group of women. We weigh in weekly. This scale sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteWith me being pregnant and my hubby bicycle commuting to work every day to manage his weight, this would be such a great way for us to track everything (mine going up, his going down!). Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThis scale sounds fabulous! I too would not have given it a second glance due to the price but after reading about it I would consider it! I have been on my weight loss journey since April 2011 and have lost 38 lbs to date. My inspiration was heredity! I see my mother struggle with weight related health issues and I WILL NOT live my life that way--so I am changing my life and my eating habits! I am NOT on a diet but on a journey to be healthy!
ReplyDeleteThis would be a good thing for me since I'm working on loosing the pounds I've gained since I got married and this would be a great tool to track my progress!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! It would be so fun to come across them~
ReplyDeleteYou are kidding me! I have never, in all my years of thrifting see these and I know exactly what they look like. That is just awesome.
ReplyDeleteI hate to weigh myself. In the past, as dumb as this sounds, I have actually avoided the Dr's office because of the scale. I have since realized the error of my ways. I have been working out, tracking my food and think that this would really help me to stay honest and celebrate my weight loss goals! And be prepared before I hit up the Dr's scale. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a health buff and love to track that stuff, plus I would be really interested in my percent body fat since I've had babies!
ReplyDeleteGreat rescue! The entire vignette looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI can barely keep up with what day it is, more or less how much I have weighed over a course of a few months. I would love to be able to keep track of my weight better!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Im on a mission to lose some (ok, a lot of) weight this year and this would make tracking my progress so easy!
ReplyDeleteWhile I have a scale at home, it's a bit old fashioned, not always that accurate. This is fantastic...having it sent to my mobile device where I can see it all the time holds me more accountable!
ReplyDeleteThis would be great as I've slowly accepted that I cannot whatever I want anymore...having a reminder of my bmi woukd be so helpful vs getting that that info once a year at the doctor's.
ReplyDeleteIm really trying to get into shape, and I dont have a scale at home. The whole how much you weigh thing is pretty daunting to see on a daily basis.... but then again, this scale does the body fat and BMI... which would be really nice to track!!
ReplyDeleteMy BF and I are on a weightloss journey and have lost 50 lb each and would like to shed another 30. We changed our whole lifestyle in order to achieve results, including weekly weigh ins on Sunday mornings, jogging after work, and planning meals that roughly fit into weight watcher guidelines. This scale would definitely help us get to our goal!
ReplyDeleteThis would be excellent to keep track of calories in vs calories out! Gotta lose 2 babies worth of baby weight!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have had the same scale for 14 years now and really need a new one. This is inspirational. I would love to have my weight kept track of by computer. so much easier and efficient.
ReplyDeleteErin
This is awesome! My daughter and I are trying to eat healthier and lose some weight...this would be a great help!
ReplyDeleteI am really trying to not only lose those last few kid pounds this year, but also get in shape....so the % of body fat would be great! Since I have my smart phone with me all the time it would be a good reminder to "STEP AWAY FROM THE BROWNIES!" :)
ReplyDeletethis would be perfect for our home. we currently do not own a scale and with the hubs on a health kick it would be a perfect "check in" tool! :) thanks
ReplyDeletei'm trying to lose my baby weight and this would be a dream come true. i'm working on having more than 2 horrible skirts that i can wear to church on sunday...... :(
ReplyDeleteThis scale looks amazing! After losing 55lbs a few years ago I've been stuck with another 30 or so to go & lately I've even been creeping up again. My scale is very old & if I squint or shift my weight to different legs, I can convince myself it's not accurate. I could definately us some new motivation to move those #'s a little lower!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a scale! I've been stuck in a plateau and I would love to be able to make sure my portions are correct.
ReplyDeleteIt would be wonderful to have an accurate scale that also tracks your weight and provide extra information.
ReplyDeleteI need a scale because I have never owned one and only randomly get my weight at places like the doctor's. I have restarted my normal fitness regimen and I would like to keep track of my weight!
ReplyDeleteI use the WeightBot iPhone app, and would be really happy to pair it with this scale. Keeping track of my fat% every day is not something I currently do.
ReplyDeleteI think this would be the perfect addition to my new healthy lifestyle. With all of the stresses of life in the past few years taking care of myself was always saved for last. Now I'm finally making it a priority and getting healthier by exercising everyday, eating healthier, and finding fun activities to try. Using the Withings Smart Body Scale will be a great way for me to keep track of my progress. I love that it keeps track of your BMI and body fat percentage because being fit doesn't only mean lowering the number on the scale. This will definitely help me make sure that when I'm reunited with my husband in a few months (military) I will look the best I have in years! :)
ReplyDeleteThis scale will aide in keeping me accountable. I would find it useful to know my BMI and % but have been too chicken to get it done. I wonder how accurate this is. Knowing could help me too.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm hooked! I need one of these to keep me motivated!
ReplyDeleteMichelle
Ms.michelle22(at)gmail(dot)com
Fantastic! This would really help with my fitness goals!
ReplyDeleteI like that the scale makes you smarter about where your weight is distributed. A lb isn't just a lb if it's mostly muscle.
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/#!/jmanglin/status/171362202882809859
ReplyDeleteI tweeted about this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHmm...This scale would be good for me because I am 8 months postpartum and operation fit into bridesmaid dress by March 17 is officially underway :)
ReplyDeleteI would love this... and my old scale just broke before Christmas (which was convenient for me :) )! I have not replaced it yet and this would be a HUGE upgrade!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to know my weight trends and I know my husband would too. This would help us know how we can eat that day and how hard we need to exercise! This seems like a really cool "gadget."
ReplyDeleteI would love the scale to keep track of my weight and help keep me in line with my after baby weight!
ReplyDeleteI am on a mission to lose weight and I weigh in daily to make sure I am staying on track. Our scale is a little difficult to use and people usually end up messing up the settings when they use it. I would love to have a scale that shows the BMI and this one is so sleek!
ReplyDeleteThe bone mass feature is something that would be a plus to me along with the charting of weight.
ReplyDeleteI just turned 50, and am about 30 pounds heavier than I should be. Owning a scale would be very helpful to losing weight.
ReplyDeleteThis scale would be a good thing for me, because I'm trying to lose baby weight after having my fifth baby. It seems to be hanging on though. Maybe this scale would motivate me more:)
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeletethe smart body scale would be a great addition to my ongoing goal to stay healthy and introduce my husband to this as well. It sounds like a great gadget.
I would love this because I've been on Weight Watchers, and have had trouble sticking to it!
ReplyDeleteTweet Tweet- https://twitter.com/#!/JoannaGiveaway/status/163416781254430721
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to win a scale like that! I think it would be great for meeting New Year's weight goals, but especially for day to day weight managment...I find if I weigh on an accurate scale daily, then I don't gain, but if I don't weigh in regularly pounds creep on over time.
ReplyDeleteWOW !! Wonderful scale. I would love to win one. Perfect for my family.
ReplyDeleteJust redid a bathroom that this would look fantastic in. :0)
ReplyDeleteI would love to monitor my body fat because I am trying to incorporate more strength training into my routine!
ReplyDeleteOh this is great! I am currently do a 90 day challenge with some other ladies in my neighborhood. We are doing a no sugar, 6 servings of raw fruits and veggies and daily exercise. Then at the end we see how mush our body fat % went down. This would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love the calorie tracking feature!
ReplyDeleteOn my wish list! Hoping it will help my teenagers' acne as well (if I choose to share!)
ReplyDeleteI would love this scale! I'm having a baby next week and have been thinking about getting back in shape!
ReplyDeleteThis would be great for me as I've recently started a health transformation journey and I own a rather inconsistent scale. I really don't think it's possible to gain 10 pounds one day and lose 20 the next... Plus, charts make me happy :)
ReplyDeleteWe got rid of our old, cracked, nasty scale and have never purchased a new one to replace it. Now that I'm actually taking the time to be a little healthier and exercise some, it would be nice to see how I progress, and not just by how many pounds I weigh! Thanks for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThis would be such a lifesaver! Over the past year I have been working out and trying to get my bloodsugars in check after the birth of our third child....my sugars never regulated - been walking 3 miles a day, doing Zumba and finally taking up a spin class. Trying to work off pounds and regulate sugars with diet and excercise to hopefully have them get better. This would be a great tool to help me track "good" days. Great post!
ReplyDeletePromised my doctor at my annual checkup last month I would lower my body fat by next year. However, have no way of knowing whether I am improving or not so a Withings Smart Body Scale would certainly be a plus!
ReplyDeleteJust the other day I was thinking that my scale must be on the fritz because after two weeks of losing consistently, now it just keeps coming up with the SAME number! Grrr. I think it's stuck. I love that the Withings Smart Body scale can track body fat percentages and having it sent to my computer just makes life so much easier! Especially with long term tracking. I would love to be able to look back over past months and compare with my food journals to see what was really working and what wasn't.
ReplyDeleteI would love this scale - I can't ever remember numbers and I don't even have a digital scale so it's hard for me to see those small little marks on my old school style scale.
ReplyDeleteI always have my iPhone with me, and try to track most things with it (I like to really take advantage of a big expense like an iPhone). This would be one thing that it could track on its own!
ReplyDeleteJust tweeted!
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/#!/homehuntingblog
I would love this scale for the BMI and % of body fat feature. And it looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow. Now that's a scale. I love the fact that it can track your progress not only for yourself, but for multiple people as well.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is trying to eat healthier and exercise so he would LOVE this. Especially since he is a totally techie.
This would be great for me! I need to lose, lose, lose! Fantastic, thank you for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty savvy to me!
ReplyDeleteThat scale looks pretty professional to me! It would almost be an insult to it to not lose weight!
ReplyDeleteI love love love the idea of the Withings Smart Body Scale that helps you stay on "track" compared to the up and down disappointment of my regular old scale...and a great way to kick off my new fitness routine!
ReplyDeleteOh my. I could definitely use this right now. I'm proudly recovering from depression an an eating disorder and learning how to feed myself properly and do things that are good for me, like exercise for the enjoyment and endorphins and to do something nice for myself. This would help me monitor and admire my progress. I hope I win!
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing scale! I really like how you pointed out not to step on one if you see it at your friends. Got a laugh from that. I'd love to win it!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a healthy way to break in the new year!
ReplyDeleteThis would be good for me because sometimes I forget to make my own fitness goals a priority. Having a scale email me to remind me to make time for me would be great! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteOooohh!!!! I have the same wish- the wish that I didn't need sleep! My tip for good sleep? A nice dark room that's chilly!!!! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI like turbo jam. I have a few if you want to borrow them and try them out. So I figured if you could do it, I could too, and I started exercising every day this week. I've been sore, so I must be doing something right. I hope it translates to weight loss...
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this! I need some portion control in my life :)
ReplyDeleteI would love a fancy new scale to replace my old, rather inaccurate one. I also love that you can create a profile and track your progress on your phone! So cool!

This would be perfect to keep me motivated to continue losing weight--I'm down 35 lbs!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love the BMI and Fat % feature that can be uploaded to a device! I just started using my iPod to track my workouts so this would be an awesome addition. Although I suspect I would like it the first time I step on it (truth hurts sometimes!) but it would motivate me to keep working out!
ReplyDeleteWow! This scale is amazing. I'd love it to keep track of my portions as I'm working to eat healthier and exercise consistently!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Melissa! Thank you for being courageous and sharing your journey on the blog. As I am hitting mid-thirties, I am seeing that I have to make changes because all my weight is hitting my mid-section! I'm going back to what helped me lose 15 lbs a couple years ago -- eating more protein than carbs (already suggested by other readers) and weight training. Train with the highest weight you can handle while still doing the exercise properly, even with fewer reps it yields results better than more reps with lower weights!
ReplyDeleteI've struggled with my weight my entire life and would love this to track my progress and hopefully drop the weight once and for all!
ReplyDeleteI have a food scale which I use quite often, but it's horrible and I'm never sure if it's correct. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI would love to know my weight and BMI together-well maybe!

ReplyDeleteMy scale is the cheapest one they make so I could def use a new one - and I would love to know my BMI on a regular basis!
ReplyDeleteI could definitely use a new scale. And the BMI calculator is awesome! Looks like a great product!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful giveaway!!! I've been working to lose weight since August and I'm almost to my goal of a 35 lb weight loss (I've lost 32lbs)....this scale would be so awesome to finish up my journey and to help me maintain. I love the idea of being able to chart your progress!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love this scale because it hurts my self esteem to hear the Wii say every morning- That's overweight. It would be nice not to hear that.
