We got a fancy new gift in our kitchen: the Moen Arbor faucet with MotionSense™! Happy New Year to us :)
First, I have to tell you that when we had contractors finishing our basement and I went to pick out faucets for the bathroom, the main contractor told me to do myself a favor and pick out a Moen. He said they may be a little more pricey initially, but they are well worth it in the long run. He said he rarely sees problems with them, they are solid and built to last, and it’s the only brand he would buy personally for faucets. I asked how much they were paying him and went and picked out a Moen for the shower. And, that is what we buy now, so of course I jumped at the chance to try the new Moen MotionSense™ faucet for our kitchen. Coolest faucet ever!
It installs just like a regular faucet, but the motion sensors are powered by battery pack or optional AC power adapter. There are 4 ways of using it:
1. The Wave sensor at the top: Simply wave your hand over the top of it and the water will stay on for filling up pots, etc. while you run rescue your 3 year old whose belt loop got hooked on the cabinet! Simply wave your hand back over the top to turn it off again, and the neighbor kids will think you are magic.
2. The Ready sensor is perfect for kids filling up drinks, washing off fruit, or a quick rinse of the dishcloth. It senses if something is directly below the spout and will turn on and off by itself. I was worried the faucet would constantly be turning on when someone walked past, but it doesn’t. It seems a little magical how it turns on just long enough to do what you need to, and then turns right off. My kids have loved it, and I have loved them not shoving chairs up to the faucet to reach the handle.
3. It also has a regular handle if you want to turn it on and off the old fashioned way.
4. The sprayer comes out and is perfect for spraying down the sink and getting all of the junk down the disposal. The black button lets you switch back between a stream of water and a spray.
I LOVE the spot resist stainless, it keeps it looking fresh and new. I also love that you barely ever touch this faucet so it stays clean and hopefully more germ free. If you're interested in checking it out, click here to read about product details and where they're sold.

This is one awesome faucet. I should remember to get a couple of these when I have my bathroom remodeled in Louisville KY.
