This is the best time of year to buy appliances -- right before Black Friday! I wanted to share my thoughts on the appliances we purchased this same time 2 years ago: the good, bad, and ugly.
LG 26.8 French Door Refrigerator $1698 I can’t recommend this one -- our ice maker went out after a year! But we use ice a LOT. We bought a new icemaker on Ebay, they are easy to install.

We got a fancy new gift in our kitchen: the Moen Arbor faucet with MotionSense™! Happy New Year to us :)
First, I have to tell you that when we had contractors finishing our basement and I went to pick out faucets for the bathroom, the main contractor told me to do myself a favor and pick out a Moen. He said they may be a little more pricey initially, but they are well worth it in the long run. He said he rarely sees problems with them, they are solid and built to last, and it’s the only brand he would buy personally for faucets. I asked how much they were paying him and went and picked out a Moen for the shower. And, that is what we buy now, so of course I jumped at the chance to try the new Moen MotionSense™ faucet for our kitchen. Coolest faucet ever!

I’ve decided one can usually gauge the craziness of my life at any given moment by looking at 2 things:
1. the inside of my car
2. my toenails
They just seem to be things that are extras: if I get around to them, that’s awesome, but if life gets crazy busy you’ll know by the smashed Goldfish in the van upholstery and my chipped toenail polish.
When I was contacted to see if I would like to review the new Southern Living Style book, I had to think about it for about 2 seconds. Yes, (ma’am!!) You know that I’m completely smitten with a previous Southern Living before & after magazine that was the inspiration for my living room tablescape.
Last year I posted that we spray painted 2 doorknobs in our entryway as test for the rest of our house.
April 2010
I’ve gotten 4 emails asking how they’ve held up and….
well, we won’t be spraying anymore:
This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Intel.
they sent me the laptop, I give you my honest thoughts about it:
It was a BEAST. Half the keys were missing (I let the kids play a game in their room on it, they left it out, and my baby found it) and it was so SLOW.
