weekend treasures

10 May 2009

I had some fun finds last weekend from yard sales. I officially un-grounded myself and it felt so good to be out! This was from three different stops, here's my haul:

a Southern Living tin $3:

a cute sweater (.50) and some black beads ($1):

a little lamp that looked like someone tried to makeover. I'll try to finish the job ($2):

3 tins (.25 each)

a candle holder I thought would be cute on an outside table ($3)

a basket (free! I was using it to carry my treasures I was finding and she said, "oh, you can just have that!" Yay!)

and my deal of the week that I was just thrilled about: a Bissell Pro Heat Carpet/Upholstery cleaner. I have been eyeing one of these and been pricing some for $150-$200. I asked what was wrong with it, she said talk to my husband. (love those husbands) He came out and said he ran over the bottom right edge with his car and a small piece had cracked off, but it worked fine. He just wanted it out of his garage and said, how about $10? Sold!
I came home, tried it out, it works great and if I want to replace the cracked shield thing I can order it from Bissell for $10. It has worked beautifully so far though. I was thrilled!

Everyone's sharing their thrifty treasures at Rhoda's:

Happy Monday!

  26. GREAT finds!! I have a hanging tin thing just like yours! I found it a few months ago at a thrift store. I think I paid $1 for it. You beat me, but I think $1 is still good! ;) I painted mine apple green and put some daffodils (fake. sorry!!) in it and it's hanging on my front door. I love it!!
