thank you, Target...

09 June 2009

Thank you for having cute sunglasses in your dollar spot section for $2.50. For people like me that lose them, that sit on them, whose kids play with them and break them and can't stomach seeing $20+ sunglasses go down the drain. Thank you.

Thank you, sunglasses.
For being my headband in the summer, and for shading my eyes that have no makeup on them so I can look like one of those with-it moms at swimming lessons that woke up at 6 a.m. and fed her kids organic oatmeal and fruit before lessons instead of one that leaped out of bed 1/2 an hour before lessons, threw her hair in a pony, and tossed the kids granola bars to the backseat on the way.
I bought 3 pair that I'll try to make last through the summer.
Thank you.

Making a fool of myself trying to show what they look like on and trying to make him laugh at the same time...

there's a smile!

I thought these wooden earrings were pretty cute for a dollar too...

You just never know what you're going to find in that dollar spot...

  2. Love those glasses...I too, never ever spend more than the average gas station prices for sunglasses...I've lost and broken way too many.

  11. I once bought earrings like that at a dollar store and I don't even have pierced ears. I just sent them off to my mom to make me a necklace out of them!

  14. Yay for Target! Great glasses! I have been shopping there for years now. It's really a one-shop-stop for me - clothes, food, and home decor!

  15. I LOVE the Dollar Spot! I haven't seen these things in mine yet. Did you get them recently? I'd buy like 5 pairs of those sunglasses if I saw them. I lose/break a pair WAY too quick.

  19. The dollar spot at Target is one of the best places to check out. the kids love it too, knowing mommy might cave if they find something adorable.

I havn't seen the sunglasses though, I must have miss them. Guess that means another trip to Target is necessary, oh bummer!

p.s. They look good on you. Very classy.

  21. I'm LOVING the Target sunglasses! Headed there ASAP! And it is good to know that others give their kids packaged breakfast bars in the car as they dart out the driveway 10 minutes late :) Also, LOVED the paint party - if my house was not not such a complete disaster, I would have loved to join! Had fun reading everyone else's posts though!

  22. Absolutely loved your post today. I'm so there with you on the sunglasses thing. I can one-up you though - have you ever searched feverishly to find your sunglasses, only to discover that they are on your head? Yeah, I'm that person.

  24. I love Target's dollar spot! But I usually get my shades at the dollar store. But I'm liking the ones you are sporting better. Because I am older than you, my favorite thing to find at Target's dollar spot are reading glasses for $1.00. Now we are talking!!!

  25. I LOVE Target too! And the "mirror" pic with your little one and you is priceless. I'm with YOU regardng Cheap Sunglasses. I'm always throwing them into my purse, dropping them, sitting on them, etc. Gotta love the cheapos!

  26. Our feelings about sunglasses couldn't be more exact! I had an $80 pair of sunglasses BEFORE the kids. Now I buy the cheapies every other month it seems!
I'm totally guilty for using them as a headband and no maker-up hider.
