I'm going green!

10 July 2009

Thank you for every vote, comment, thought, link, word of wisdom and advice!
At one point, I was pulling out my blue swatches and neutral fabric in preparation for a more subdued palette, but in the end, green won out by just 18 votes! Thanks to all 482 of you for giving your two cents.

Now, if my house doesn't sell because of my laundry room, I'll blame the 250 of you that said green and the other 232 of y'all that said go with a soft blue can say, "I told you so..." :)

Here is a sneak preview of what I'm gathering:

This girl is off to figure out a fresh, green laundry room.
We're supposed to get up to 106 degrees today--uggghhhh.
Not so fresh and inspiring.
Are y'all dressing up like a cow today and going to Chick Fil A for your free food? We are :)

Have a great weekend and try to stay cool, especially if you're in Texas~

  4. I love your blog. I am a mother of 6 and love doing and re-doing. I think you may live in Utah, and so do I , I would love to know if you have any really good shoping places. Anyway I would love you to check out my boys rooms on my blog. They were in June. Thanks.

  6. My breakfast room is about the same color as Stacey and Rhoda's laundry rooms, and I love it! It goes with just about any accent color you could pick, and it always feels fresh! Enjoy, and post a pic when you're done!

  9. I'm excited to see what happens. :) My hubs refused to do the cow thing, although I totally would have done it. I am settling for a turkey sandwich. ;)

I have so many questions and I can't believe the transformation you made with your bathrooms. My email is nannarara@gmail.com Drop me a line.

  13. I'm SO excited to see how the laundry room turns out. I gave mine a facelift a few weeks ago and it is so much more pleasant to work in there now.

About Chickfilet, if it wasn't 45 mins away, we would definitely be donning the cow costume!

  15. I like blue myself, but my mother is always trying to win me over to decorating with green. "Green is God's color... it goes with everything."

And Martha Stewart is a big fan of green, as well, proclaiming "Green is nature's neutral." It seems you can't go wrong with green.

  16. Melissa, I saw your note about the green!! Email me, girl if you are still not sure about the intensity. It's really a pretty color, hopefully they mixed it up right. It might be that you are just not used to a bright color like that, but I bet once you get all your things back in there, you will love it. I get some light in my room and it's still not too bright for me. I've recommended this color to a lot of people & they have all loved it too. Let me know!!

  18. Can't wait to see the finished result! I have mostly tans and blues throughout the house, but I am itching to get some greens, grays and reds into the color scheme!
