Remember this little cupboard shelf I found one weekend at a yard sale? I've decided to put her in my laundry room and a little makeover was in order!
And there we have a perfect little ribbon holder for my laundry room.
See the little cupboard on top? That's where I keep my fabric scissors so little hands can't use them for cutting who knows what, plus it looks like a perfect place for my chocolate stash. :)
I can't put her up yet, because I'm not finished painting, but I'm trying to keep myself motivated with little, satisfying projects. :) Oh, and you know that's not all the ribbon I have...I have 2 more boxes of these, but for the ones I use most often, it's pretty handy...

what a wonderful idea!!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have thought of the simple solution of cup hooks to hang the dowel rod. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea...I never have thought about using cup holders to hold a dowel before but it works great!
ReplyDeleteI love it, Melissa! I've been wondering what to do with my ribbon stash. This looks like a good plan. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat Idea! It turned out great!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, that is really adorable, way to think outside the box. Don't you just love that Heirloom White? I used it on my project today too.

Some people have all the crafty genes. My neighbor is having a garage sale, perhaps there is a treasure for me to paint and hang over there. I need a better chocolate stash.
ReplyDeleteVery cute ribbon holder.

Just fabulous Melissa! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea! I need a place to hide my sewing scissors...I often find my kids using them to cut paper or whatever, and hubby has been known to use them to open packages!
ReplyDeleteOops...Craig did't write the above comment ;)
ReplyDeleteMelissa, I love it! That is so cute - and your little "anthropologie" pots are adorable as well. I can't wait to see your laundry room - love you!
ReplyDeleteAdorable, my sista! And I love knowing that someone else does little fun-projects to keep them going on the big ones! (My philosophy exactly!)

ReplyDeleteLove it Melissa! Yep years ago my Tabitha found some scissors and cut her pretty long hair...oh my I was so heartbroken but it did come back but still...you know how mothers are with their little girls long hair...
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Very fun. I have quite a lot of ribbon too. :) Kelly
ReplyDeleteI love it! Such a great idea to only put out the ones you use the most - I know you kinda had to but let's just say it is your great idea!

Looks great! I have waaayyyyy too much ribbon for a cute little thing like that! I have to tell myself all the time to not buy anymore!
ReplyDeleteLove the makeover! And you're right, the cupboard is perfect for a chocolate stash, but do you think it's BIG enough? :)
ReplyDeleteI really need to do this ASAP!
ReplyDelete~Wonderful idea. :)
How perfect! My ribbons are all stuck in one of those double tiered cake stands and spilling all over the place. I love this!
ReplyDeleteXOXO

I LOVE it! It not only looks good, but is really functional too! I have been working on some ribbon projects lately too. Amazing how fast it accumulates.
ReplyDeleteFabulous + functional = my favorites!! Love it! :)

ReplyDeleteI bet you could add a couple of hooks, on the inside of the wood, at the very bottom and hang another dow rod and get more ribbon out of boxes.
