I know some of you have said I am crazy to host a baby shower at my home a few weeks before moving, but this was for a good friend that has had a long, hard journey on her road to motherhood. I was was beyond thrilled to help her celebrate.
The artwork on the chalkboard is courtesy of my in house artists: my daughters' extraordinaire. For the food table, I used my .99 cent poinsettias from black friday at Lowes~I placed all 5 in a white tray for my centerpiece and tucked some silver balls between them.
I used my $ Tree glass hurricane candles and picked some pine needles from my neighbor's tree and some red berries from Target Christmas clearance last year to drop in between the candle and the hurricane.
In the summer, Target had a crazy sale on these small Glade glass candles and after coupons they were free, so I had stocked up. I know, I know, I should have posted about it. I'll give you a little hint though~sites like Money Saving Mom will keep you in the loop much better than I can with all of the sales and coupon matchups. Love her! Anyway, the McIntosh apple smells divine and is white~works with anything:
I simply cut some strips of green scrapbook paper, wrapped them around the candle, taped the back, and then added some red ribbon for some simple, dressed up tealights on the table.
I also had three of these tin star tealight holders that I have had forever from a yard sale and grabbed some white berry garland off of my mantel:
It's making me hungry looking at it again :) I'll post recipes tomorrow....
it's DIY day at Kimba's!
Great Job on your table, very very nice!
ReplyDeleteOh Melissa...
ReplyDeleteGreat table sweetie. Looks fit for a queen. I love your 99 cent ponsettias. I didn't even venture out on Black Friday. I just can't fight the crowds like I used to. Not anymore anyway.
The food looks yummy and I love the use of cardstock and ribbon to your candles. So creative.
Thanks for sharing today. I love it when you do. Please stop by and say hi. I so love your company.
Country hugs...Sherry
