I promise I’ll give details and prices tomorrow, and yes, it’s totally staged and looked like this for, oh, about 10 seconds, but it’s going to be featured somewhere exciting (more later!!) and I wanted her to look her very best. I’m joining Chris’ Show and Share Day.
It's a wonderful life! :) haha

You're room looks awesome! Especially the bench I keep trying to figure out how I can find a table to turn into a bench. You are so creative! When you post about the room tomorrow could you pls list the color you painted it. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I am SO jealous!
ReplyDeleteIt is adorable! You did a great job :D I love the numbers and the baskets!!
ReplyDeleteLove Gemma X
It really does look wonderful...like something out of a magazine. Can I just say though, that if I tried to put a lovely potted plant on a bench in the entryway, my boys would have it knocked over and on the floor in the first 5 minutes. :)
ReplyDeletethat looks so good!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe plant is not real and was there for 2 minutes, my laundry doesn't consist of 2 white towels and some cute polka dotted oven mitts, and my family of 7 doesn't share one cute red coat or magically line their shoes up under the benches :) It was fun to stage though. I'll have to show a reality picture tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteYvette~sad news of the day: the paint was a mixture of some oops paint from HDepot. I hate that...sorry. I wish I had a name f for you. Maybe I'll take it in with me and see if they can color match and give me a formula??
ReplyDeleteIt's a Wonderful Life! lol And I wondered why you had oven mitts there until I read the comment. :) It looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteWell, I wouldn't be surprised to find out you've made it into a magazine, Melissa! This just looks great and you had some great projects you did in here.
ReplyDeleteWow Wow Wow!!!! It looks unbelievable awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just love your table you cut it half! I have always wanted to do that. It looks so beautiful! I thought you had Destin on your list. I thought, that's odd, maybe its a vacation reminder. She could come see me. Then I realized it was desitin! I think I need more coffee :)
ReplyDeletelove how it all turned out. a thought? we had that big white board for our homeschool as well. i got my husband to trim it with molding and i just LOVE the way it turned out. the youngest graduated last year but the white board is still up and is message central for everything! lauren
ReplyDeleteseriously?? How far away from me are you exactly? I have a house that needs some love...
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome!
ReplyDeletegreat transformation, that light fixture really set it off. You inspire me.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Looks beautiful! I can't wait to hear all about it! Hope your having a great week! xoxo
ReplyDeleteit looks great! it was fun watching this process unfold on your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI really love what you did with the coffee table. Just genius!
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS! Much better! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still in awe that your benches were a coffee table in its former life. I love everything!
ReplyDeleteThe coatrack shelf is my favorite thing! Such a great spot.

I hope it's ok that I take great pleasure in knowing that this was staged, whew! I don't want to be the only one with a messy entry way :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks so darn cute! Love it...you are amazing:) Love the wall color too...do share what it is!
ReplyDeleteThis looks absolutely GORGEOUS! I love every detail!! The coffee table benches, the wall color, the numbers and hooks. Love it love it!! I also really like your "be kind" quote... so perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing. I'm having my very first linky party tomorrow and would love if you would join. It's an Organizing Party so this would be perfect. I love the wall color too. What is it?
ReplyDeleteLove it! Again, I love how you made the benches. What neat organized space. I love the staging too. And the colour of the walls! What a nice pick.
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing. I'm so jealous that I don't have a hallway or larger laundry room. All the junk you've managed to organize in this area is what is causing my house to look messy. I think you are brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa,
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful and so functional too! You are so creative with everything!
I love your new door knobs and am so tired of my brass. Did you paint the hinges on your doors or are they new?
LOVE it! The colors are gorgeous together...I keep going back to stare just one more time!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful, Melissa! You're so smart. Now where, where is it going to be featured? This is so exciting!
ReplyDeleteIt looks outstanding!!! I LOVE the benches too! I wish I had a space for something like this in our house!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! This turned out sooo beautiful. I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove your back entryway! Isn't it amazing what a little bit of greenery will do for a space?
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so neat and organized. I love the pattern that the light fixture creates on the ceiling. Nice touch!
ReplyDeleteReally like your ideas, there is an excellent Irish decorating co. who may inspire your ideas, check out www.harvardandbrowne.ie
ReplyDeleteJessica, of course it has to be It's a Wonderful Life! Yay for you for knowing it. :)
ReplyDeleteAnita~I wish I had Destin, FL on my list this week..
pieters~I would love to frame it out in chunky red molding. It's on the list... and probably will never get done, lol.
Charity~colour. You've got to be a Canadian girl. My dad is from Canada and I still have to catch myself when I spell colour, cheque, and theatre. :)
Lori~I spray painted them! More on that tomorrow...
Fabulous, Melissa!!! Love your light fixture, and you did such a good job with your benches. :)
ReplyDeleteI am soooo doing that in my entryway as soon as I find a coffee table. One question though... How far apart did you space the coat hooks?
ReplyDeleteI love the light you scored at Home Depot. I went to ours today to try and copy you and it's on clearance for $55...bummer. How did you alter so that you only use one light vs. 3 little lights?
ReplyDelete~WOW! Melissa this is totally and completely off the charts awesome! Fabulous job! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty!! Do you share what paint color your walls are? It is the exact color I have been looking for.
ReplyDeleteLove it, love it, love it! And I love your honesty, because here I was thinking "geeze, my house never looks that neat!" :)
ReplyDeletePS - the movie quotes --- Its a Wonderful Life :)
But that lamp is not the same one as in the previous post for $18. Did you hang it somewhere else?
ReplyDeleteHello sweet Melissa - love your makeover! Esp the numbers above the hooks. Oh and the sweet sign. And baskets. I love it all.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Wonderful Life!
Blessings,
Marie

Love it! So many amazing details!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I just realized those are not the same lamps at all.
ReplyDeleteNo, they're not the same. I got the other one for the front entryway...
ReplyDeletewow what a big difference! i can't wait when i can get to the point where i can say that a space is finally decorated. takes sooo much time and money!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! Thanks for the inspiration. I love your blog. I have a link to your blog on my blog..thought I would let you know. You have great ideas.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I wish we had a formal entry, but alas, we do not.
ReplyDeletepopping in from JAG! This is fabulous! It doesn't take too much away from the walkway, tons of storage and lovely to look at! can't wait to see the details!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from JAG! This is so adorable! And completely functional too! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read all the details!
Looks amazing!
Enjoy the day!
Are you kidding me? If that doesn't go in a magazine, it should. I have been snooping around your blog and I think I am going to have to be your newest follower. You have some great things here. Love that entryway, I could just stare at it all day.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the details.
Brooke
Love it!! Can't wait to see if you can match the paint color. My sister painted all her knobs and hinges a few years back and they are holding up great. One thing that she did that I didn't catch if you did or not, is coating each knob and hinge with several light coats of clear coat. That way, the clear coat gets rubbed off with use and not the ORB.
ReplyDeleteThis turned out incredibly AWESOME! You go girl! So proud of you.
ReplyDeleteI love your entryway!!! What a great redo!
ReplyDeletelove, love, love this!!! coveting it right now....
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! This is very classy. I'm in awe!
ReplyDeleteFound you via Just a Girl. I love this transformation. Looks like everything will have its place and the colors are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the new door hardware too, the antiqued bronze looks so much more updated from the brass. Great work! :)
Amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love this hallway...everything about it! I think I could do this in my back hall. The search for a coffee table I can hack in two begins ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your entry so much, I can hardly stand it! :) I wrote about it on my blog & linked back to you. Hope that's okay.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I'm featuring it on my blog sometime this month. :) little-inspirations.blogspot.com. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteI just saw this on Rhoda's Top Posts 2010. I absolutely LOVE this hall way! Ingenious I tell ya! The light pattern the latern gives off is a special touch! Great job!
ReplyDeleteStaged or not it looks amazing and it is going to be so functional,Kathysue
