Just a home I loved out on a Sunday drive…I love looking at the details. I wish you could see the before! What do you think they did that makes it so charming?

  1. What a darling house! I do the same thing when we are out and about. My husband thinks I'm crazy when I want to snap a picture! Well I'll say the door makes the house. The color is great but its the shape that is so perfect!

  2. The landscaping and brick walk are gorgeous. The front door is too. I love the shape above the door and the lanterns on each side. I do think it needs shutters but it is DARLING!

  3. I just LOVE this house--it has "home" written all over it, doesn't it? It's modest but beautiful.

Details, details. . . I'd vote for that wonderful front door which complements the paint color but doesn't match anything . . . that mail slot!. . . the lanterns. . . the roof, nicely done but understated. . . the winding path to the door. . . and the beautiful landscaping which reminds me of the asymmetrical balance of the house. All that from one quick look at your photo--you picked a winner! :)

  4. I love this house. I agree with Richella about the front door. I also love the painted brick on the right side and the brick walkway.

  6. Love that house! I think the shape, the door, the winding walkway are some of the major things that stick out to me. The landscaping is very pretty too.

  9. It is all in the details. I bet they did a new walk, lovely landscaping, one paint color to unify the whole home, and new fixtures?? So pretty!

  16. Let me try again. I'm half asleep with only one cup of coffee in me. lol

Added the small front porch, with an arch to match the front door (which is gorgeous!)? Painted the exterior of the home a lovely shade of yellow that makes my heart sing? :D

If I could have a home, any home, it would look a lot like this! Dreamy!

  18. It's got to be the door, I think we all agree on that. The rest of the house is in soft, subtle colors and all angles and peaks but the rounded top of the door and the bolder color really makes it pop and accent the rest of the house. I also love the winding path up to the front door, it's like it's trying to prolong the excitement of getting to that wonderful door.

  19. as everyone has said, the shape of the door, winding walkway, landscaping & details, but the PORTICO over the entry makes it for me. it tells you that even in snow , sleet, rain or hail you could be sheltered. seeking shelter......from life's stresses is what we all want when we visit a friend so i think it's the suggestion of shelter that really makes it welcoming.

  25. Who knew so many would love this as I did? Love my readers! Now I really want to rip out our plain old concrete walkway and put in a charming brick winding path, an arched door and portico. Oh, and paint my house a creamy yellow. Sigh.
I want to walk past again and *maybe* I will have enough guts if they are outside to ask some questions. :)
