This is one of my mom’s favorite quotes…this is for all those who may be going through chemotherapy treatments (we love you, Carol!), the loss of a loved one, dealing with an illness, a heartbreak, financial burden….who would give anything for a normal day: scrubbing the toilets, puttering around the house, folding laundry, changing diapers, washing dishes, running kids around, making dinner…
That is SO INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL! Do you care if I share it? I want to spread it! I try to take a moment every day to stop and realize just this! I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteThank You for sharing with us all!
♥Lori
I love it! simple & sweet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sentiment! I count myself lucky because I relish my ordinary days.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this :)Tomorrow the 23rd, marks the one year anniversary of the last time I saw my brother alive; he died the 28th in a freak car accident. I've hungered for ordinary days, I've been pondering a post about them on one of my blogs; thank you, I needed to hear this :)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really love your blog. Your ideas are thrifty, creative, and beautiful, but you don't dwell on making things "perfect." I love that attitude, and it inspires and relaxes me as I take on the task of decorating my new 2,900 square foot house on limited funds. I can see the real person behind your posts, and she's fantastic! I look forward to reading more. Thanks for writing.
ReplyDeleteAmen, sister--so many things that we routinely complain about are the things that go into a normal day. And when those normal days are taken away, you realize just how much a privilege it was to be living them. May we all realize their worth and value them while we have them! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that quote! Its so easy to forget how beautiful and special each day is. Thanks for the lovely reminder.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteAgree. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautifully true words of wisdom!
ReplyDeleteYou've left me with much to ponder today.
This is absolutely beautiful and so so true. Thank you for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteOh Melissa that quote is great. Do you mind if I use it on my blog? I have enjoyed you blog, And I Do treasure normal days.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was bored in my normal day! Thank you for switching my perspective!
ReplyDeleteThis is great. It is often not until you lose the normal days that you realize how important they are. It really puts things in perspective.
ReplyDeleteJan Marie: of course you can use it..feel free to share it
ReplyDeleteI am not going through chemo but have been having tests today for something else. This quote stopped me in my tracks. I try never to take anything for granted and often comment that boring is just fine with me. I'd also like to post this on my blog...with a link to you, of course. Thank you for this reminder Melissa.

I'm using that in my next R.S. lesson. It's perfect, along with this one- "Remember, happiness is a way of travel, not a destination" Roy Goodman.
ReplyDeleteWe need to make the most of each plain old boring regular day because that's what our years and our life is made up of, more so than the few spectacular days.
Thanks for your most excellent reminder and your super awesome blog.
Thank you for inspiring me. I needed that today.
ReplyDeleteI love this quote!! I'd love to use it in an article I'm writing for our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) newsletters...is that okay?
