My Target holiday stuff went 90% off today. My boys and I made it there around 9 a.m. after calling the store this morning to see if it was 75% off or 90% off. Not much left, and not a roll of wrapping paper to be found. My plan to give it to neighbors next year was foiled. BUT…
AND this week only, they have a special 40th edition of UNO for $1. (in the toy section~I had to ask an employee where they were)
So, I thought how cute would it be to package them together somehow with a fun ribbon, your favorite sugar cookie recipe or mix, and note saying, “hope your family creates fun memories together this holiday season, blah blah blah, etc. etc. etc.”
Another favorite thing to do is scour the store for random holiday things that sometimes the employees don’t know are holiday, but they still ring up 90% off:
red flameless candles: $1.40 (in candle aisle) perfect for Valentines!
Smith & Hawken paperwhie bulbs in a beautiful silver planter .99 (smith & hawken aisle)
Cocoa goldfish .21 a bag (snack cracker aisle)
Scotch gift wrap .40 for a 2 pack roll (regular tape aisle..not Christmas in any way, but they ring up 90% off)
Christmas packing tape .30 a roll (tape aisle)
also check paper towels, napkins, paper plates, etc for hidden goodies, check the book section for Christmas books, pajamas in the kids and adults, etc. and scan scan scan
Now of course, every Target it different, and yours may not have any of this stuff, but if it has a holiday design of any kind, scan it on the red scanners on the end of the aisles and you may have luck! They usually only stay 90% off for 2 days, then they give everything to the Goodwill.
If you’re heading to Target anyway (ahem…aren’t you almost out of milk or tp or something) it may be worth a look.
Happy Shopping~
Girl, what are you doing buying more STUFF? Go clean out your storage room already!
I’m working on it!! I’ll post pics of some progress…..later.
My Target was a GOLD mine this morning! Christmas night lights, outdoor flags an individual ornaments for less than $1 each! It was so fun!!
ReplyDeleteI shared a few of my purchases:

If I didn't have MOPS tomorrow morning, I'd probably be waiting outside Target when they open. ;) I do love the 90% off time!
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me to head to my target tomorrow..Hopefully I will find the UNO cards there and anything else that catches my eye..Wish me luck..Love your blog..
ReplyDeleteWell, if your neighbors are reading...you just spilled the beans. JK! :) Thanks for the 90% off tip!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you when I was at Lowes buying some Christmas things for 75% off on Sunday. You should see the gorgeous wreaths I got for $6 each!!
ReplyDeleteOff to Target tomorrow morning to see what's left!
Well, if it doesn't snow here Friday I was heading to Goodwill Saturday morning anyway, Melissa! : ) I have a feeling mine won't have much left anyway, as it is the main Target around for miles in any direction. Good idea for next Christmas. Will you write that down so you don't forget? {Because I would totally forget and wonder why I bought buckets of cookie cutters come November!}
ReplyDeleteSay no more, I'm on my way to Target!
ReplyDeleteI read your post and immediately grabbed my keys and went to Target. I was there yesterday morning and it was still @ 75% (and pretty picked over) but I grabbed the flameless candles and every. single. bag. of those Goldfish. (Don't judge, I have 4 boys.) I'm sad that I couldn't find the cutters or the Uno game, but I did also find Pepperidge Farm Oatmeal & choc cookies for 32 cents a bag. (Red snowflakes on the packaging.) There are also yogurts and coffee creamers in holiday flavors on clearance. Thanks for the great tips, as usual.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas!!!! I'll have to hit ours tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteJust want to stop and enjoy fantastic writing, i want to say it's great post and keep updating new writing
ReplyDeleteAhhh I don't have a trip planned till Friday...I wonder how wiped out they will be by then???
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to have found that tape for 30 cent.
ReplyDeleteCute idea for next year.
Heather~ my neighbors aren't the blog reading type, I don't think. They don't really know I have one..just think I'm a crazy spray painting junk collecting crazy woman!
ReplyDeleteVivienne~yay! So glad you found some good stuff. I got 12 bags of those goldfish and there were still some left!
Good luck everyone else!!
Oh wow! Your Target had great deals! There are two by my house and they are both out of great things :( They only have wrapping paper and candy canes which we bought of course but it would have been nice to find great deals like this.
ReplyDeleteGreat gift idea for the neighbors! My sisters found Sprite on sale for $0.60 this fall, and gave it to neighbors with tags that said, "May your Christmas be merry and Sprite." Clever, eh? And who can't use some extra soda around the house during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteFYI...at my Target tonight, most of the women's fitness wear was 50% off. There was some good stuff!
I'm bummed about the Uno, I just bought Uno for about $10 at Kohl's for a stocking stuffer for my daughter, I'm still heading to Target tomorow though, thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteI might have to check Target out tomorrow. I'm also checking back at Rite Aide to see if they've gone 90% off yet. The store near me still had wrapping paper but I wanted it cheaper than 75% off because it's not THAT cute. haha! You got some great deals.
ReplyDeleteYou got some fantastic deals! I guess I'll be heading to Target tomorrow. Hope mine still has some goodies left!
ReplyDeleteJust reading your blog for the first time, good stuff!
ReplyDeleteI went to Tarjay yesterday on a whim and scored a 6ft prelit tree in the planter that was 105 smackers, but was marked down to 25 bucks! Can't beat that!!
We so need target in the UK - great idea with the cookie cutters!
ReplyDeleteRachie xo
I went Monday during my lunch and found a Christmas cd for $1.75
ReplyDeleteI saw those Uno cards in the sale ads, I was going to buy some for our family, since we love games and they always lose some of the cards eventually.
ReplyDeleteOh and cookie cutters make really cute tree ornaments with a pretty ribbon attached...just another idea!
I'm going to Target today for cereal, so I'll be on the lookout for some of those leftover Christmas deals.
Thank you for the tips! I nearly always need to go to Target for SOMETHING. So I'll do some checking a la Melissa!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea with the uno cards. I need to stock up on those for birthday gifts. My target is hit or miss sometimes I find great deals other times I miss out. Glad you got some great items.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the tips. I went to Target and saved $71.00!
ReplyDeleteHeading there on the way home today. Thanks for the heads up! Love your gift idea for the neighbors!
ReplyDeleteDon't laugh, but another food item my Target had on sale was BUTTER! It was like 30%, just another one of those things they over stock in the holidays & have to get rid of.
I'm back (just went to Target LOL) and wanted to share with folks...check the crayon/craft aisle too. I found Christmas crafts that were regularly marked at $2 for 20 cents. Just another idea! I got a bunch of ornaments, the kids craft kits and a couple of pilar candles that were regularly priced $5. I would have bought more, but I was starting to feel a bit greedy haha
ReplyDeleteI went yesterday and found the amaryllis bulb kit in a pretty red pot for 99 cents. Found some cute Paul Frank slipper socks for boys for $1.29, found boy's pjs for $1.29, 2 stuffed pillow snowmen for 99 cents each, and the CUTEST Disney Princess sticker books for 49 cents each. NONE of these were with the Christmas merchandise that was left over. A LOT of it was near the scanners! I love TARGET! It's my guilty pleasure:) Thanks for keeping us updated!
ReplyDeleteIt's the day after you wrote this post. I'm sick w/ a cold. It's evening. And yet I'm still trying to figure out how I can make a trip out to Target before they close tonight! That's the power you have girl :).
ReplyDeleteI went. I didn't find much Christmas stuff, lots of wrapping paper. I did find 3 of the Smith & Hawken amaryllis pots.
ReplyDeleteI did find & buy a Dyson, for $224.50! It was 1/2 off & I couldn't resist. I have always wanted one & too frugal to pay full price. I have spent more than that on other vacuums over the past 2 years & nothingh has measured up. I am sold!
Can I go shopping with you please??????? Sounds Awesome!-- Mine had very little left - I did get a few things - nothing over 30 cents!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I would really like the bulb container. (plants die just by my glance) but the container would be great. Wonder if our Target here in Podunk has this merchandise? Thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteMy Target was out of Uno, but I found single roll gift wrap tape for $.20 ea. and poinsettia napkins for $.30 ea. They have sterling silver nativity necklace and ball earring sets and cross necklaces for 50% off, making them $10 and under.
ReplyDeleteRestoration Hardware has 60% off on stocking stuffers, ornaments, etc. Got gorgeous old/antiquey looking glass ornaments for $1.49 a piece! Love it! They also have tin letters for about the same, and the best looking, sturdiest ornament hangers I have ever seen - gold, scrolly, beautiful - $4. I know you can get a package of hangers at Target, etc. for $1, but these were far and away the best I've ever seen.
Remembering this post, I headed out to do errands yesterday. I only made it to Kohls and Hobby Lobby (as far as shopping goes) but I found some great deals! Thanks for great deal alerts and fun on your blog. Come see what I found!

My husband and I do almost the same thing every month at Target and Wally World we love to find the best deals. Great finds and gift ideas you procured. Good Job. We buy all of our candles at a small company in Lavergne TN. called Flaming Fragrances. There candles are super strong and affordable. They just started selling online this last year.
