diggin’ these recipes

Here are some winner recipes that we have made and loved these past couple of months:
Sarah’s Feta Dip: so easy and fresh. I took it to a baby shower (big hit!) and then sat in my van afterward and wiped the platter clean with the last piece of bread…recipe sarah
Our Best Bites Creamy Chicken Taquitos. Yum yum yum: 6 out of 7 of us agree! That’s a huge success in this house…recipes our best

Richella’s Bacon Tenderloin (*note: I usually just use a pork roast, wrap it with the bacon and the seasonings and cook it all day at 200 degrees. The bacon gives it such good flavor!)recipes richella
Emily’s Greek Chickpea Salad (so my husband and kids aren’t crazy about it, but that’s okay…more for me~I love it.)recipes emily
AND I shared our favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe here, and Richella suggested in the comments to use half butter, half shortening, then change the sugar to 1 1/4 c. brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar. We tried it and loved it even more. Thanks, friend!

  1.  Please don't feed children shortening.  It is hydrogenated oils that are full of free-radicals and trans fat.  Even just for a treat, it is unacceptable! Use real food, like butter, rather than chemicals.   It is just not worth it.

  2. I have a pork roast that I bought on sale that had no clue what to do with.  Once again you came through for me.  Love the all day cooking also.  Do that with turkey and beef and it makes the whole house smell wonderful!!  Can't wait to try.

The taquitos are a staple around here, as is most everything on their blog!  LOVE Our Best Bites!  Thanks for posting the dip recipe, I can't wait to make it!

Love your blog!  It's one of my favorites, and I'm excited to see how the kitchen turns out :)  About the Pork Tenderloin, how long do you cook it at all day and at what temp.?  In the crockpot?  I have in-laws coming who love bacon and I need to put together a week of recipes.  Sorry to take your precious time.

Angela~You can do the crock pot on low all day (6-8 hrs), but when I cook
meat it seems to come out more tender if I cook it from 8-5 at 200 degrees
in the oven. I use a small roasting pan with a lid, but you can also use a
pan and use tin foil. Good luck~I made it when my parents were visiting and
    it was really good...

  9.  YUM!

One more tip on the cookies--I just learned this one-- BROWN your butter in a pan first! Adds a whole new dimension of so-bad-it's-good-ness!

  11. I made those chicken Taquitos a couple of weeks ago and I LOVED them.  I have some Feta cheese in the fridge just sitting there saying "hmm, what are you going to do with me?" Now I know!  I can't wait to try that feta dip.
