I roughed it up with some sandpaper to try to make it look like I got it at an antique store instead of on the endcap at a big box store.

It has the time on both sides…pretty neat, eh?
Now, for the lamp inside the penny tile cabinet:
I needed to get the cord all the way over to the microwave outlet, so some holes had to be made.
You can buy hole saws at any hardware/home improvement store that attach right to your paint splattered drill.

And then you start drilling right through the cabinets, preferably in a spot that is going to be hardly noticeable.
C’mon through little cord!

Let’s attach an extension cord and string you behind the milkglass above the sink,

through another hole

in the back of another cabinet, (I obviously didn’t paint the inside of my cabinets…)
![November 2011 059 1 November 2011 059 1](http://lh6.ggpht.com/-Lg8UFmAmUjA/TsUUWbXLqEI/AAAAAAAARhA/otrg7gfx9KE/November%2525202011%252520059%2525201_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800)
And FINALLY to the outlet!
![November 2011 067 1 November 2011 067 1](http://lh4.ggpht.com/-uUbMvQaN2Fg/TsUUXXAFd9I/AAAAAAAARhQ/Xql7X6oPpuM/November%2525202011%252520067%2525201_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800)
And that is how there was light in the cabinet. I would have been so much simpler if there was an outlet built in the cabinet, but that would have been much too easy…

I love that clock. I really want one of those.
ReplyDeleteFirst, thank you for explaining about your lamp, Melissa! My husband can't cath his breath when he sees nail holes for pictures, I think we'd have a full blown meltdown if I did holes like that! : ) I LOVE that clock! I love the ones with the clock on both sides. Great find and price.
