home for the holy days

I’m joining Richella today for her Home for the Holy Days. It’s about keeping the focus on Christ amidst the hustle and bustle of the season. (and there has been much hustlin and bustlin around here, so it’s good to reflect on the true reason for the season.

Here are some reminders in our home: a  simple nativity from my mom when we were first married.

Our favorite Baby Jesus is from a vintage set made by Avon and Precious Moments like this one on Ebay. Is it the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen? Baby Jesus comes out of the manger and I try to guard him with my life! We also love the Little People nativity set and the Charlie Brown Peanuts set.

This is the famous Walmart statue my mom found a few years ago at Walmart for $20! She bought them out and gave them to us all as gifts..everyone thinks it’s one of those expensive ones…can’t remember the name?

Our favorite tradition that keeps us focused on the reason for the season is our countdown to Christmas with books (but can I just tell you we are 5 days behind with that??)
