I thought I would save some money in the master bedroom by making my own custom color with leftover paint from other projects. I wanted a greige color and I had beige, I had grey, so I thought it would be perfect. I didn’t even have to run to the store. You are so awesome, Melissa!
It was awesome until….I ran out of paint.
Now I have to go and get my custom color matched if I want to finish the room. No time saved, no money saved. How can I complicate things any more?
In other news, we now have a 5 year old in the house. We love this boy.
This is still our favorite cupcake frosting recipe. I frosted them the night before and left them out at room temperature and they were still scrumptious as ever.
Dinosaur hats from the Dollar Tree and riding the city bus down to the frozen yogurt shop were big hits.
Have a wonderful weekend! I’m so looking forward to listening to my church’s General Conference. Many of my courage for the week quotes come from here and it is one of my favorite weekends of the year for spiritual strength and renewal. Anyone is welcome to listen/watch~
What a cute little guy- I hope he had a great birthday! I'm looking forward to General Conference too. A day to stay in my pj's, be spiritually fed and eat junk food!! :) Havr a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteDo you mean cake decorating? I pretty much stick to cupcakes, but it's perfect for that. They have some other frosting recipes on their site, not sure which would be best.
ReplyDeletewe call it caboose park :) we love it here.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your sweet boy! Looks like you celebrated in style. :)
ReplyDeleteBummer on the paint, Yea! on the 5 year old -- I remember when we took my son's 8th grade party on the subway into DC to see the tarantula feeding at the Natural History Museum! the kids loved it! (and so did the parents)
ReplyDeleteI am not a frosting person myself, but I have a similar recipe I found on PW's site and my family (including me) all love it!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your son, he looks like he had a wonderful birthday! I just had to comment and say I love the that park. :) I was just in town visiting my parents. I grew up playing Boxcar children in that caboose, before they wouldn't let you in anymore. Such memories! I love all of the pictures you post about "town" I so miss living there. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your precious boy!! His smile is adorably contagious!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your pics, Sounds like a great weekend.

That sounds about how much luck I have :) It looks like your newly 5-year-old had an awesome birthday! I have a newly 6-year-old, so I feel your pain ;) I'm definitely going to try the frosting recipe too. Have you ever used it for decorating? Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteSuch a good idea in spending your weekend. Lovely smiles and nice activities.
ReplyDeleteAww, he looks so excited to be 5 and who wouldn't be?? Cute!!
ReplyDeleteRunning out of paint is so frustrating but look at the positives- you used up what you had already, saving space and being earth friendly! Maybe you can get by with just another quart. It looks good though!
ReplyDeleteAdorable hats! I love the tulips, too.
