Happy Day After Mother’s Day!
This is how things are looking around here:
my nightstand:
pile at the top of the stairs that has been sitting for over a week:
pretty mother’s day flowers:
star wars torture device (yikes! run for your life, Landon!)
leftovers from the father son campout:
The smoothie that never got blended. I was out of spinach….so I opted for leftover mother’s day cake for breakfast instead.
Rear ended. Endless insurance calls.
My kitchen sink with all my new mother’s day treasures:
How’s your day shaping up?
Oh Melissa! I so appreciate your honesty and having a chance to see the whole picture. We all have that in our lives and it feels good to know others are confronted with the same things. Hope you are okay after the fender bender - ouch. And the Mother's Day treasures are truly that!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Thanks for creating beauty and keeping it real!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your real posts. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed this post. My home looks just like this! Glad to know we aren't the only ones out there. :) Thanks for keeping it real!
ReplyDeleteLove that my house is looking just like your house today. :) Lunch with dad, extra long nap from being pregnant, emergency trip to walmart for cereal and milk, run the dog to the vet for kennel cough....sigh. So much for cleaning up today.
ReplyDeleteI love these posts......:)
ReplyDeleteGlad I am among good company! Preparing for a graduation party around here, tons of yard work to do (the new sod isn't in yet) and it has been pouring!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, loved that post. I think someone needs to start a blog chuck full of messy house pictures and bad meals, so we could all feel better about ourselves. Maybe I'll do it . . .
ReplyDeleteThanks for a bit of consolation:)
ReplyDeleteThis makes me love you so much. ((((((HUG)))))) I'm glad to see someone else has a "real" home.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness my house is always full of piles everywhere too. It drives me crazy and I cant stand them for more than a day. Its amplified when someone drops in unannounced too. But I have to remind myself that we're really living in this home and therefore its not always going to look as perfect as I would like. Makes me think of that phrase "A perfectly kept house is the sign of a misspent life." My mom might say thats a copout. But I'd much rather DWELL in my home and be PRESENT in my girls' lives than worry about perfection...most days. {wink}
ReplyDeleteHehehe...looked like my house after this weekend! Love to see the real deal :)
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Mother's Day weekend happening: berryfreckles.blogspot.com
MMother's Day pretty much sabatoged both my house and my diet (my kids made me several cards and other paper crafts that are now strewn around the house, and my husband mde delicious food), but it was wonderful. Instead of cleaning up the aftermath, I spent the afternoon reading. It's been a great couple of days. ;) Thanks for your pictures and post -- they definitely helped asuage the few twinges of guilt I was feeling.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your Mother's Day treasures!! :)
ReplyDeleteI think this post is great!- but that more husbands need to see these photos!! My husband thinks our house is the only one that looks like this!!
ReplyDeleteBut look, you have a handset, on your nightstand, in it's station. You're ahead if you ask me.... I like your ideas, I think it's amazingly creative but on a budget. Centsational Girl, Design Mom and you are my top reads when I open up Google reader... just so you know.
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing what life is really like! I get so tired of (and overwhelmed with) bloggers who only show the clean, organized parts of their lives. This is how my house looks any time I try to do something other than laundry or clean, so I appreciate you keeping it real!
ReplyDeleteI totally connect with your pile at the top of the stairs! It's one of the those piles of things in my house that sits there so long I don't even notice it! AND I am SURE that my kids never notice it! SO it will be ol' mama sorting and putting that pile of who-knows-what away! AND why is it that once one pile gets put away, another one is waiting to take it's place! I have read organizational tips about taking 5-10 minutes before you go to bed to put away things that don't belong in each room. First of all, it would take me longer than that, and second of all, before bed I am too tired!!! :) Thanks for letting us connect to issues I think we all have! The Mother's Day treasures are just that, treasures!
ReplyDeleteWho wouldn't love that nightstand?! And that star wars torture device? Wow, I'm impressed. :)
ReplyDeleteso glad you're keeping it real for us. it's one of your best talents.
