I *love* little projects like these -- not a lot of money, quick satisfaction, only about an hour of time. And then you want to organize everything else in the house!
Our poor hall closet needed some help -- we’ve been shoving odds and ends and I-don’t-know-what-to-do-with-it-things in it since we moved in. Cords, flashlights, phone boxes, tape, pillowcases, file folders, you name it, it was in there.
I think uniform containers can make anything look organized. Cue these bins from the dollar tree! $1 in square or rectangle, perfect for corraling and hiding all of this.
I emptied everything out, divided it up, threw out a bunch, and made some labels out of white cardstock and clear packing tape.
A huge difference! Sometimes I open the door just to look at it when I walk by :)
Happy Organizing!
I bought those $Tree bins and organized my boys' Legos by color. So satisfying.
ReplyDeleteI love that you keep things relatable and simple. It looks tons better, probably feels tons better, and you're not spending crazy amounts of time and money on matching wicker baskets and custom made labels. Sometimes closets just need to be closets, clean and organized :) Very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great!!! I understand about opening the door just to look at it!! So satisfying, indeed!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, my email today from Oprah.com was about organizing closets, and they used your peet makeover from March 2012. Maybe they've used it before, but it excited me no end!
ReplyDeleteThey would be great for that -- good job! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Emily!
ReplyDeleteYay -- thanks for letting me know Bonnie!
