the great curtain dilemma

10 May 2017

It’s totally a first world problem, but it’s got me in a rut for Hailey’s room. She wanted white, gold, and blush in her room and so far it’s working pretty well. We were going to finish it up last week and move on but the curtains are giving me a pain. Here’s the story:

I died over these blush silk shantung panels at Serena & Lily, but there is ONE left and it’s 84” I first saw them at the M Loves M office I shared on Friday – but they are pricey so maybe it’s good they aren’t available. Soooo, we had to find some alternates.

Here are the contenders that were in stock – AND you get a sneak peek of her room! Winking smile

After our initial online searches, our first pick was this blush linen panel from Target.  They are the perfect shade and match the comforter at the end of her bed. The problem is that it only comes in 84” length! Grrrrrr. About a foot short! So I need to add some fabric on the bottom, maybe with a fringe trim of some sort?? But that also means more work. Target…why only 84”?? I was also hoping for some more pattern, the solid linen may be too…solid.

The picture don’t really show how these Target gold metallic stripe look, but they may be a little too light? $22.49/panel 95”

My first impression when I got these Walmart BH&G in the mail was that they may be a little sassy brassy but then I put them up and liked them much better! And they come in 95” $17.97/panelwalmart gold foil

And then there are the plain white Ikea Vivan panels – too much white? I love the more sheer look on these though. $9.99 for the pair!

What do you think? Do you have a strong, burning opinion?? I’d love to hear! Or seen anything else around that would look fabulous in her room as we’re trying to finish it up?
