Stewart Falls -- about a 3 mile hike in Utah County near Sundance. Family friendly, but bring plenty of water and snacks. If you go in the summer, there are shaded areas but also full sun areas so go in the morning or wear a hat/sunscreen. If you pass the ranger station you'll have to pay about $6 to park or show your National Parks pass. Some of my friends park before the ranger station and walk up to the parking lot so they don't have to pay. The falls feel so good on a hot day!
Timpanogos Falls -- this is what I call the secret hike because you begin in same parking lot as Stewart Falls but this hike is shorter (about 2 miles) and less crowded and you get to see 2 waterfalls! It was our first hike in Utah right after we moved here ♥
Springville Splash Pad and SOS Drug -- If you are in Utah County, one of our favorite perfect summer afternoons (especially for little ones!) is go to the splash pad on Main Street in downtown Springville (free), then walk down to Funfinity (the best toy store!) and then finish off with an ice cream cone or root beer float at SOS Drug (these are all on Main Street) They have an old fashioned soda fountain with the fun counter and barstools. You'll feel like you stepped back in time.
Cecret Lake -- about a 2 mile up Little Cottonwood Canyon in Albion Basin -- easy to moderate -- it can be steep and rocky but the views are worth it! Parking can be tricky -- try to go during the week!
Ensign Peak Trail & Overlook -- In Salt Lake up on the hill by the capitol building. This is very short but steep but the views are just incredible! The whole family will love it.
Bridal Veil Falls -- just a little ways of Provo Canyon this is a great place for everyone because you can have a picnic and everyone can go on the paved trail at the bottom of the falls and the more adventurous can venture up the falls.
Provo Rec Center -- don't bother going to the water park! Just pay $4 or $5 here and let the kids have the time of their life! They have indoor and outdoor slides, kiddy pools, big pools, rock climbing walls. Our families love coming here when they visit.
The Grotto Trail -- this is an easy, shaded 1 mile hike but right now it's CLOSED from the huge fires in the fall of 2018. Let's hope it opens again soon. Very family friendly with a little waterfall (I guess that depends on the time of year) If you go in the fall, keep driving the whole Nebo Loop for some incredibly gorgeous scenery!!
What would you add? There are so many wonderful spots to visit! Have a BeUTAHful adventure!
