We just used Billy Bookcases which are great because they have the holes
all the way down both sides of the case
AND you can buy additional shelves so you can make them whatever height to fit your shoes.
They have multiple sizes so you could even find one that fits in a small closet. We also added a basket for beltbags, gloves, belts, etc.
I wear size 8-8.5 women's shoes and mine came right up to the edge
My husband wears 10.5-11 so his came over the edge a little but it was a great solution for us!
The back of the Billy Bookcases also have a lip for traditional size baseboards - ours were a little taller so that feature didn't work for us but it might for you!
