My sister, Kelsey sent some of this to me for my last birthday, and it is dee-vine. I love it, my husband and kids love it~we make a batch and it's gone the next day. Perfect for breakfast with milk, over yogurt, or for an after school snack.
I gave some to my neighbor last week for her birthday in a cellophane bag topped with a ribbon.
Now, you know if it's a recipe from me it's going to be easy, and it is! Promise.
And anything with cinnamon in it? Perfect for fall.
Kelsey's Granola
6 cups oats
3/4 cup honey
1/2 cup canola oil
1/2 tsp salt
1-2 Tbs cinnamon (depending on your preference)
2 Tbs vanilla
1 cup coconut
1 cup craisins, raisins, or other dried fruit
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup almonds (or any other nuts you have)
1/2 cup flax seed or wheat germ (optional~to give it an extra little health kick)
Combine all ingredients in a LARGE bowl. Spray a large cookie sheet with cooking spray and bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown. (I like mine soft and chewy, so I only bake it for 8-10, but if you like it crunchy, it will be more like 15 minutes.)

I began to unpack my autumn decor and forgot about my little excursion to Hobby Lobby when all the fall went 90% off last year.
(For inquiring minds, it was the Friday before Thanksgiving, Nov 20 last year)
There I was, all by myself, 8 months pregnant and I just sat myself down smack in the middle of the aisle to go through the leftovers. Here is what I came back with:

The desk in the laundry room was missing some handles. They weren't standard size, and I liked the existing ones, so I wanted an inexpensive alternative. I remembered something Wendy @ the Shabby Nest had done, and it turned out to be the perfect solution!
I just took some black grosgrain ribbon I had, tied a knot in the middle, then threaded both ends in to the holes, tied a knot behind both to hold it in, and that was it!

Last year, I *happened* to be in Target, (which you know doesn't happen very often) and some red clearance signs caught my eye in the camera department. I went on over to see what was going on, and the guy said they were clearancing out a bunch of last years models to make way for the new ones coming in for the holidays. I had been wanting to upgrade my point and shoot camera, but the prices were holding me back.
Among the cameras was the Canon Rebel XT
, and the price on it was $349.98, down from $599.99. It seemed like a good deal to me, and then the guy said, that is our only one left, and since it's the floor model, it will be an additional 30% off, making it $244.99. My heart started beating very fast, but that was still a lot of money.
I decided to wait and ask some experts.

Remember this $3 framed print from last weekend's treasures? It caught my eye because of the shape and length of the frame:
