I got lots of comments on the pumpkins on top of my piano~I wish I could say I made them, but they were from Target fall clearance last year. But it did get me thinking...how hard would they be to make?
I am not much of a "fryer." I think I have maybe fried something in oil once, maybe twice in my life??? I don't like the way it makes the house and clothes smell and it just seems like a lot of work. And I always laugh when I think of the line from Sweet Home Alabama when Candice Bergen tells Reese Witherspoon's mom "why don't you go back to your double wide and fry something" and then gets punched out. Oh, that makes me want to watch that now.
I loved Angie@The Happy Homebody's framed pear project and thought how clever it would be with a pumpkin for fall instead.
So clever and original, Melissa!
But guess who is already two steps in front of me?
Angie.
Turns out that if you can come up with a framed pear, you can make a pumpkin look even cuter. So much for originality, but here goes my version :)
Start with a pumpkin from the Dollar Tree, and a knife (a bit morbid looking, isn't it??

I wanted to bring you to my friend Marti's front yard~it is downright beautiful. I featured her last fall, and I couldn't help but grab my camera and start taking pictures when I was there. She's not only a decorator, but a gardener as well, and so it makes for a killer combination. Her husband is in agriculture, so he gets to bring home some amazing pumpkins.

Happy October (rabbit!)

Y'all are the best.
Last week, I asked if anyone had seen outdoor rugs on clearance for my patio.
Of course, you came through with fantastic ideas as usual.
Frugal Jen (are you shocked that she had a frugal tip for me? :)
told me she had seen some mixed in with the regular rugs at Target. The summer clearance was wiped out at my store and I thought all the rugs were gone with it.

I saw this $2 arrangement at a yard sale and it's not the flowers that caught my eye, but what was underneath it all..
