13 cabinet hardware knobs handle choices under $5

    30 April 2014

Oooh, this was a tough one. There are so many good choices out there these days! Here are some favorites that I narrowed down to that were under $5 each. Except, I lied. As I was typing this up, I realized #6 was $5.97. But I really don’t want to go back into photoshop and re-do, so will you let it pass?

#4 was in our Virginia home (love them!) and I’ll run over and take pictures of what we chose for the kitchen in our new home to show you. Nope, we still haven’t moved in, but working on it and hope it is very soon!

    worth the $4 investment

    29 April 2014

I LOVE a good glass of ice water. Our rental doesn’t have an ice machine in the fridge, so we picked up some regular old ice cube trays from the grocery store when we moved in. They were starting to break and crack and you basically had to be Houdini to get ice out.

I finally ordered a new set on Amazon and almost choked at the $8 price tag (for ice cube trays??) for a 2-pack. But they got great reviews so we went ahead--just watch for 8 seconds as we demonstrate the power of a good ice cube tray:

I wish we would have discovered them 8 months ago!! Buy the good ones, trust me.

    how to paint fabric chairs

    23 April 2014

Yes, you read that right. I PAINTED some upholstered chairs.
I had seen it done here first and then some great tips here and tucked it away in my maybe-want-to-try-one-day projects, and then I came across a pair of these pink velveteen chairs on a local ad for $30. They were in pristine condition from an estate sale and I HAD to try it.

First up, I removed the skirts on the chairs to show the legs and give them a bit more updated feel. Getting a little sassy here and showing some leg!
