a spring thought

03 March 2009

Welcome from Sarah's spray paint party! I posted this one a few weeks ago, but had to join my fellow spray painters anonymous in the party. Go see what everyone else is spraying!

Here is our thought for the day, courtesy of a .25 yard sale find:

"It's easy to be pleasant
When life goes along with a song,
But the man worth-while
Is the man who can smile
When everything else goes wrong"

It's a lovely thought, but I think I like this even better:
Take it apart, a fresh coat of yummy green spray paint on the frame, some chalkboard paint spray over the thought, a black and white gingham ribbon, and a leftover knob hot-glued to the cabinet:
we're thinking spring!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Oh I love the green! Hot glue? Genius. I would have hammered a nail and regretted it later.

  8. I really Love that Green! What color is it? It is really georgeous and Green and Pink are my fav colors, but green is such a tricky one to get just right. Pink is Pink how can you not love any shade of it!

  14. Jennifer & Becky~I bought it at Michaels thinking it was spray paint, but realized after I started spraying that it is actually floral spray! Oh well, it did the job, but I could tell it didn't stick as well as spray paint. It helped to spray a coat of primer first. It is Design Master floral spray and the color is Basil. It's right by the spray paint and is about $6 a can, so be sure to use a coupon. Good luck!
momof3girls~I've found the chalkboard spray paint at my Walmart.
