tidy totes

Have you seen these little gems at the Dollar Tree? Mine had a ton of them and so did my friend's, so I'm guessing yours will too. They are a 4 pack of these mesh bags that are perfect for containing random things throughout the house. So far, I've used them for odd socks, bath toys, and leap frog fridge magnets. I stashed a pack in the car as well and have used them when we went cotton picking and to put my son's wet clothes in when he spilled a sonic slush all over himself. Works for me~

I'm sure there 101 more useful ways to use them~have you used these or can you think of a great use for these? I just have a feeling they are brimming with more potential wonderfulness.
Oh, and speaking of cotton, some of you have asked if you can buy some. Email me at lissylee@hotmail.com if you're interested and I'll get back with you.
Happy Wednesday!

  1. I have several. I sue them to keep sets of toys together when we rotate them to storage and for work. I also use the zippered laundry bags. Works great to keep all the counting and sorting sets together and they don't wear out like zip lock bags.

  5. Yep I would have used those but I found some buckets last summer in hot pink and lime green and put Lexi's bath toys in those...but I could use some of those in her closet...for gloves and tights that she uses on Sunday...mush rather have them in that than stuffed in her panty drawer.

  6. Just last night I was picking up the leapfrog fridge magnets for the 10000th time, thinking there has to be a better way to store these then on the fridge and thought "I bet Melissa has a great idea." Low and behold here it is this morning... divine intervention to the rescue of the magnet problem. Thanks so much!

I also had to stop by and comment because I knew EXACTLY what 320 Sycamore was, and then of course seeing Granville House, I was so excited! It's a Wonderful Life is also my favorite movie!! I'm going to subscribe to your blog --

  11. I was just thinking this morning while lying in bed (oh, the intimate thoughts of a Momma, haha) that I could use a mesh bag for hanging toys in the bathtub. We currently just set all the toys along the tub rail and are running out of room! I've seen the cute, but expensive toy scoops that attach to the wall and just can't justify one when I know there's a cheaper option. This is perfect. As soon as we can get around, we're heading to the Dollar Tree!
