I’m trying to resurrect her! I put it down in the basement by the window when Christmas came and kind of forgot about her.
She’s back outside on the porch with some fresh water and plant food and we’ll see what happens…
Good luck~I hope you can find them at your store!

I have one in my corner kitchen window and it's doing great, but they do need sun. My one last year didn't do well once winter rolled around...

  3. This post and the urn post inspired me to dress up the front steps of our house.  I snagged a topiary from Walmart and some blue and white flowered plants from a local nursery.  Its been a few weeks, the topiary is very happy and growing like crazy.  Do you shape up your topiary by trimming the sprouts that sick out from the round shape?  Thanks!

Yes, Kathryn~I just trim them up every so often to keep the ball shape.

  5. I just buy the fake ones. I don't have a green thumb. I like the ones you don't have to water....I can't hurt them. :)

  6. Hey!  I totally stole your idea and splurged for the pots at kmart...but my topiaries are melting in the heat.  Okay, I guess it's more like they are shriveling , I am melting.  So I am wondering how the one did that you brought in last year?  Did it get enough sunlight and survive?  Thanks for any help.  I love the ones we got but I'm thinking I need to go fake in the future.

  10. I haven't been to Walmart in a while (Target is closer), but may have to stop by.  That's a great price.  Hopefully you can bring yours back to life!

I boycott Walmart with a passion--haven't set foot in one in almost ten years...but you are sorely tempting me!

  13. Awesome!  Thanks for the tip.  What I want to know is a good place to find cheap urns for my front porch.  Any advice?  Everywhere I look they are super pricey!  help!

  14. thanks for the heads up!! going today and hoping they have them at my wal mart! We almost killed one of our plants like your topiary and we did resurrect her by watering and feeding. took about 6-8 months to get back to lusciousness but it worked! Good luck!

No! I was just at Walmart! Boo, I guess I have to go back. Maybe I'll at least wait until tomorrow. :)

In resurrecting news, I had a poor plant that died last summer and I finally got it to come back to life except now it's only alive on one side of the bush, I should take a picture. It kind of fascinates me, and I refuse to pull the poor girl up.

  16. I have two faux ones for that very reason!  I find them very difficult to keep through the winter months here.
