to our master bath...

Isn't she lovely? I really want to start on her this weekend, but I've been wanting to start on her for the past year, and it hasn't happened yet. Fall just seems to bring perfect weather for yard sales and you know I have a weakness with those. And when I go to yard sales, I come home with treasures that need to be given some tlc. I have much more fun doing quick little fixes and getting the instant gratification than whole bathrooms. Here is the crazy thing though...look above at the spindles on the entryway to the "dressing area." I'm seeing that shape pop up now in magazines and catalogs:
Here is from PBK fall collection:

It's coming back!! That was one of the first things we took out of our main bathroom. You wouldn't leave them would you?? Or am I behind the times?
And just a reminder that the giveaway continues through the weekend~thanks for all of the fun drink ideas. I'm feeling a Sonic run coming on today!

  1. Love your new blog. I personally like the spindles. Do you still have the file folder of ideas?

  2. If you take them out, definitely keep them! They could be an entirely different project in themselves. It is funny that styles always come back around.

  3. Good idea from Cameo. I would say...picture them in a different color and it will be amazing!

  6. Maybe if you painted the spindles the same cream as the rooster makeover...? Your bathroom will look great whatever you do! Your hall bathroom makeover was AMAZING! Good luck with your decisions! Have a great day!

  8. I really think that if you took away the dark stain with a cream or white colored paint the area would definitely pop and you might be inspired to keep going. Instant gratification is hard to resist.

  9. I was thinking I liked that swag light fixture if all the brass was black.......I don't know, I'd have to actually see the bathroom. But i might leave the spindles, too. They are kind of cool.....

  10. I have to tell you it isn't the spindles that gets to me--it's that wall paper!! Also I had that same light fixture in my bathroom growing up~it is a beauty! Too bad Bonnie got rid of it or I could send you a picture! I too can't wait for the re-do pics! Good luck! Remember you are pregnant--DON'T OVER DO IT!!

  11. I am in Kelsey's ward and saw your blog on hers. My husband is in med school thus we have an apartment and no money, but I feel like it's possible to have cute things now! And I can live through you until we get a house, and then I won't be afraid of a fixer upper because you have created absolute beauty! I love your blog! What an inspiration! Thanks for the ideas, and pure joy!
ps-you should cover the spindles with a faux (square) column.
