I'm going to give you a break from going on and on about the bathroom (oh, but it will be back tomorrow :) I wanted to show you what Heather did with her monogram napkin:
Don't you just love it? I'd send you to her blog, but hers is private. Here's the details she gave me though:
"I love it, it's a nice change from my usual wreath! The flowers were just what I had, I was going to put white ones in, but haven't gotten to it yet. And the tin thingy I found at goodwill and spray painted (Wal-mart almond)...I used modge podge and when I put the TOP layer of mod podge over the napkin wet your brush a little with water to make it transparent. I got my wreath hanger at a craft boutique in Idaho and the napkins I found at Tuesday Morning. They had tons of letter stuff...too fun!"
Thank you, Heather for letting me share this. I'd love to see anything you've made~send it my way at lissylee@hotmail.com
All right, this next part I hesitated to do, but I'm making myself. Melissa over at The Inspired Room is having a Project Procrastinators Party, where you share what project(s) you've been putting off, then commit to having them done in 2 weeks. Here are two little projects I've been meaning to "get around" to doing for forever, so I'm going to go for it. I really, really want to get to them, so I'm hoping this is the little boost I need. Let's hope :)
Here are some hall cabinets that I've been wanting to paint since day one of moving in:
And a cedar chest my parent gave me when I graduated from college. It's been through heck and needs some TLC:
I have 2 weeks to finish them. I can do it...right?? Get over to Melissa's and post the project you are going to finish...c'mon, do it with us and cross something off your list.
It will feel so good!
I dare you...
Of course you can do it! ; ) Can't wait to see how they turn out. Thanks for sharing with us Heather's version of the napkin monogram. She did a great job! It encourages me that maybe I can really do that! I've not yet worked with mod podge (shocking, I know...), but I'm looking forward to trying. = ) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWe CAN do this! LOL
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with your projects!! I have an old chest I'd like to makeover sometime (if I can talk my hubby into letting me do it) so I can't wait to see what you do with yours.
Hope I have a newly painted room to show in 2 weeks!

You go get em tiger!!:) I am wondering the color you will choose for the chest--black to match your bedroom set? I still have to smile thinking how the graduation gifts have changed through the years with your family . . . Looking forward to the finished products!!

ReplyDeleteLots of work to do- Here's hoping you can finish them- I bet they are going to be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the results!
ReplyDeleteI love the monogram idea! I wish I had just one front door. When we put in new ones, I selected two with oval glass in them. They are really difficult to decorate. Good luck with your chest and hall cabinet. We will be excited to see your results.
ReplyDeleteCharla
Shout out to my sis Heather!! She did a great job at making her front door super delicious.

ReplyDeleteSure you can do it, and they're virtually unbreakable, so no worries! :)
ReplyDeleteI hopped over here from Kim's blog, I had to see 320 Sycamore because I grew up at 114 Sycamore!

Can't wait to see them done. Are you going to just prime and paint the cabinets? I have cabinets that I want to paint, but I am too scared to try. I can't wait to hear how it goes with yours!
ReplyDeleteShannon
