I wanted a wall full of good memories and things that have meaning to us. But I didn’t want it to look too uniform or matchy…more of a collected over time look.
And yes, I warned you I was going to paint the dresser!
The two round frames above with the carriage prints ^ and the 3 oval ones below are supposed to be holding my kids’ silhouettes, but I haven’t quite gotten to them yet…
This is the other side. I would love to do something with that air vent…like blow it up. We also need to switch sassy brassy doorknob out.

The framed documents are Proclamation to the World, and The Living Christ and explain more about our strong belief in the family and Jesus.
I’ll give some more info of how I put it all together, some tricks & how to-s I used, and the COST, but for now: halla-loo-yer, it’s (mostly) done. :)

Hi Melissa! I found your blog by googling "most popular decor blogs" and I'm so glad I did. I love your style, and this before and after of your foyer specifically is gorgeous! I'm definitely your newest fan :)
ReplyDeletenot at all! I think it's a great suggestion.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see it, Michelle!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to make a picture wall but the only long wall I have is in the hallway across from the laundry area. Does a picture wall always have to be on a long wall and do all frames have to match? DH hates to hang pictures and he never seems to get them straight even after using a level, careful measuring and marking the spot. Same way with hanging shelves. Is there a secret to making a picture wall? What about using walls that are framed out by a large window in living room?
ReplyDeleteWoah what a transformation, very inspiring! I love how the chairs are the same color as the telephone :)
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful gallery wall! I linked back to you here: http://www.mamawithadashofdiydrama.com/2011/11/gallery-wall-love.html Thanks! New follower!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!! I know you said that you didn't like your vent cover; if you paint it the same color as the wall it will blend more. Saw that on HGTV.
ReplyDeleteGlad I could take you back :) My kids love it!
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks amazing! Great job! I love your blog so much! So much "real" inspiration! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great, but I can't stop looking at that phone. I am old enough to remember using dial phones, so I am feeling rather nostalgic.
ReplyDeleteWow! You did an incredible job!!
ReplyDeleteI saw a good idea on pinterest for coming up wall vents!
ReplyDeleteI saw it too! I may have to look into it more so I don't pull out the dynamite :)
ReplyDeleteI love it!! I have an old house, which I love, but no good walls for a gallery...I will have to re-examine my space...I want one!
ReplyDeleteYour wall looks So lovely!! I love how you weren't matchy, matchy too(when I did mine I was). Oh well I can change it again. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeletethank you, Lynne!
ReplyDeletethanks, Christy!!
ReplyDeleteThe dresser looks great. Updated and I love the phone. So neat. Would love a tutorial on the silhouettes of the kids when you do get around to it.
ReplyDeleteYour wall looks fantastic! One of the best I've seen!
ReplyDeleteyou`ve totally outdone yourself here. i mean, the rest of your home is gorgeous. but THIS, this is something else. i absolutely love gallery walls. i have family photos dating back to the late 1800s - early 1900s. i`ve been so intimidated by gallery walls because i can`t get the frames down pat. you`ve done an amazing job mixing and matching photo frames. i don`t think outside the box - i`m not creative. i think in black or write. as in, every.single.frame must be white. lol. i need to break out of that mold. this is truly beautiful. you must smile every time you come in. & i love how you`ve used things that are so meaningful to you. great job.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful! I love it...even the painted dresser :-)
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!! I really love it! I love that I can remember when a lot of those pics were taken...where does time go?!? I LOVE the dresser redo too! How do you do it all?!?!:) LOVES!
ReplyDeleteI used heirloom white spray paint (rustoleum from Home Depot) and a mixture of provincial and special walnut on the top. I will post more on the dresser... :)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using shutters!!
ReplyDeletethank you for the tip~ I need to do it!!
ReplyDeleteUm can I just say I LOVE IT!! You rock. I love the dresser too- I definitely would've painted it too. Love ya!
ReplyDeleteThe dresser looks fabulous! I love it pained the white/cream. It's as though it should have been painted all along. Great work. It looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh! i love it so much!!! the space really looks so bright and open now!
ReplyDeleteps- how are you doing your kids silhouettes? I'd love to do mine (we're doing them w/ our YW at mutual this wednesday) but I can't imagine my kids holding still for that long, do you have a trick?
Beautiful gallery wall.
ReplyDeleteLooks Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great job!
It looks fabulous! What a difference. It gives people a reason to pause and look at everything.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this wall. The mix of different items is so point on. Nice work. I did an all white-frames gallery wall recently. These are so fun to put together. http://houseconfetti.com/my-walls-been-framed/
