This is a favorite…I made this last night for a scout court of honor and finally took some pics. I have the best intentions of posting more recipes, but then I forget to take pictures.
I got this recipe from my friend, Buffy Madsen when we were first married and living in Logan, Utah. I’ve seen another on pinterest, but this version has 1/2 cup less butter (we still thinks it’s delish..it already uses 1 cup!) and we make it in a cookie sheet/jelly roll pan to make it stretch further. The printable link is here..let’s hope it works?
Cinnamon Roll Cake
It tastes like a cinnamon roll in a cake—great for a large group.
Mix:
3 cups flour
3/4 cups sugar
1/4 tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
Add to mixture:
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup melted butter
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
Pour mixture into a cookie sheet.
Mix:
1/2 c melted butter
2 T flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 Tbs. cinnamon
Drizzle on top of dough, swirl with knife once or twice .
Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.
While still warm, drizzle glaze on top.
Glaze (I usually double this)
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
2 T milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Enjoy~it is a crowd pleaser! Serve with cold milk. Printable version here.

Happy March…Rabbit!!
So So good - we made it for the first time last night and we all agreed it was delicious. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteYum! This looks so good and sounds super simple. Will be filing this away for the next time I need to take something in for Bible Study fellowship!
ReplyDeleteI remember Buffy! This looks delish--can you please tell me why you have never made this for me? I will try not to feel bad and make it myself. Too bad my kids are on a no sugar diet--it's making my life miserable-I guess I will have to eat the whole thing--can you just see the pounds shedding for me?!:) Wish I had more will power. I am so thrilled with your success tho! LOVES
ReplyDeleteThat looks so amazing....I am trying not to eat much sugar, but everyone needs a cheat day now and then!
ReplyDeleteI have just been making heart shaped cinnamon rolls (see http://www.finecraftguild.com/valentines-heart-cakes/ ), but yours is a different take on it. I got to try your recipe. Thank you for sharing it. Since it's a cake, I think it will be lighter.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good!!
ReplyDeleteI made this cake 3 times last month! I got the recipe a few years back from a church(Relief Society) meeting. It is one of our favorites and my go-to recipe if I am asked to bring a dessert to any function. Love the idea of putting it in a cookie sheet to stretch the servings. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE desserts like this that are fast and easy and I already have all the stuff to make it! I Love your blog! Thanks!!
ReplyDelete15-20 minutes, my oven tends to cook hot. It's in a sheet pan, so it cooks more quickly.
ReplyDeleteCook for 15 minutes??\
ReplyDeleteDo you grease the pan?
