Hello and happy February! (Rabbit!) I figured I better share the rest of my winter décor with you before we break into spring~we’ll see what Mr. Groundhog has to say tomorrow. School is cancelled here AGAIN for a skiff of snow…this Montana girl just doesn’t get it. Anyway, winter décor can be tough sometimes for me. I don’t want to spend a lot, but still want to enjoy the coziness and beauty of the season before it turns to slushy gray. This isn’t the skiff of snow, this is a few weeks ago:
real pine branches in water~they actually last a long time. Search your neighborhood or local park and bring nature in. I probably should have dusted before taking the picture? ahem.
Pinecones, old family pictures, antlers and sweater ball ornaments from Christmas Target clearance, but just balls of wrapped yarn would be lovely as well. I love to use trays to bring it all together nice and cozy like. If you know what movie that phrase is from and you are not related to me you win reader of the year.
And of course, smell is everything to feeling cozy. These are two of our winter favorites to put in the warmer:
What kinds of things do you like to surround yourself with in the cold, sometimes dreary months of winter?
You got waaaay more snow than we have in Chicago!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had that much snow since 2011!
Your winterscape is so pretty and serene.
Love it, as always. :)
Hi, I love your piano-scape! I mostly have some white dishes and a few silver Wilton Armetale trays out. A fire in the fireplace...totally unnecessary since we live in Louisiana, is cozy. I also keep one of my little Christmas type trees (it's in a pot) lit, no ornaments or a few Mardi Gras beads. I love tiny white lights all year.
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater balls! What a neat idea! Funny about the dusting:) You should see my piano. It is a black baby grand and I can't keep the dust off of it! I usually have a couple of half-sewn quilts thrown over it anyway, so it is just as well:) Yours looks lovely:)
ReplyDeleteI got them a few years ago at TJ Maxx!
ReplyDeleteIs that the one with Renee Zelwiger (sp?) Nope~it was from Robin Hood, the old animated one. :)
ReplyDeleteThat makes me feel better, Laura. My grandma has a little wood block on her hutch that says: "test dust. do not remove!" :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely hear that Disney Bear saying "nice and cozy like". So either Jungle Book, or more probably Robin Hood.
