have you seen these?? SnapRays Guidelights

25 November 2014

I’m so excited to share a perfectly simple, genius idea for your home: SnapRays Guidelights.
SnapPower Guidelight Super cool night light

Simply cut the power, take off your outlet cover, snap this one into place,
turn power back on,
snap power outlets
and you instantly have a nightlight/guidelight at the bottom of the working outlet that costs less than 10 cents a year to operate! Nothing sticking out, no bulbs to replace,

lights on snap power outlets
and the sensor will automatically turn on the guidelight when it is dark.sensor on snap light
You don’t have to worry about turning on anything. I love these because:
* we had a nightlight in our previous home on the outlet on our stairs. One day when the kids were rough housing the bulb got broken and my 9 year old son got a nasty cut on his arm that probably should have had stitches.
* because of this incident we had guidelights installed on the staircase in our new home going down to the basement. Since then, I have been wishing that we put them in the other hallways so my kids don’t have to turn on all of the lights when they get up at night -- these came to the rescue without having to hire an electrician to hardwire guidelights in.
snap power lights

* they give just enough light. Perfect for a baby’s room so you can see what you are doing without turning on any lights that would wake them up. Or a hallway for getting up at night or in the basement so you can run down without turning on any lights.
*they are still fully functioning outlets! Our guidelights on our stairs are just lights, but these still remain outlets + give the light.
I honestly didn’t think I would be so excited about them, but I am ordering more for our downstairs hall. They are 3 for $42 or 5 for $65 or 10 for $120, plus you can get an extra 10% off when you share on Facebook or Twitter. Consider the cost of hiring an electrician to hardwire guidelights in while losing precious outlets and/or replacing nightlights when they get broken or toddlers play/walk off with them and they are a bargain. They would make perfect gifts or stocking stuffers!
I am thrilled with them and was so excited to share with you -- also, Snap Power just announced on Facebook that they won 2014 Handy Magazine, Handy Innovation Award. I’m sure this isn’t the last you’ll hear of this team:
Today, we are giving away a SnapRays Guidelight 5 pack, just tell me in the comments where you would plug your first SnapRay in!  For an extra entry: share this on Facebook, pin it, or tweet and then tell us in the comments.
Good luck!

* this post was sponsored by Snap Power, but is purely my own thoughts and opinions. When companies approach me for a product review, I only accept if I think my readers will love it. I try it out and if I love it, I’ll do a post to share with you. If it’s not what I thought it would be, I contact the company and let them know it’s not a good fit and you will never hear about it.

  1. Like you, we have many "middle of the night" adventures! They would really come in handy when the dogs decide they need to go out in the dark of the night!

I really would like these for the stairs so my daughter can see to come down at night. I hope they come out with light switch covers too!

  6. I have never seen these, what a great idea! I would put one in the hallway and in my night potty training daughters room. Would be helpful for the middle of the night potty trips. I would put in another in the nursery of baby #3 arriving in January!

    ReplyDelete
  7. These are awesome! I would put them in the path between the kids' rooms and our room. They make it in the dark all the time, but this would be great for a little extra safety! Thanks for introducing such a great product!

  8. I'd install them at the top of the stairs in our new home! We live in a one story now and I'm a little nervous about the staircase with three small children!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I would put this in my hallway at the top of the stairs, so we don't have to worry about anyone falling down the steps. But I would also love them for my parents who are 85 and 81 and live in a 4 story home for them to put in their hallways when they get up during the night.

  11. I love these!! Would be perfect for the hallway in our basement!

  12. Wow! Genius! I would put them in the lowest level of my house. It's so dark down there. I think the kids often turn on lights just to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

    ReplyDelete
  13. This is such a great idea! These would be perfect for my upstairs hallway. My littles are always unplugging our nightlights.

  27. What a smart idea! Thanks for sharing. These would be perfect for our upstairs hallway. We use a nightlight now but I like this idea so much more.

  28. Definitely in our halls. My husband loves to have night lights and we haven't put them in our new house yet. These would be great. Last year I was cleaning and threw a metal chain into my daughters bedroom and the night light was just pulled out enough and the metal wrapped around it and blew the circuit, ruined the outlet and nightlight and burned the chain to the carpet. I will never do the plug in night lights again. It could have burned the house down.

    ReplyDelete
  31. These are genius! I'm always concerned about grandkids touching or trying to take out the night light in the outlet. These are the perfect solution and would work down the hall to get to the bathroom.
    Wonderful giveaway!!

  32. Jessica Hansen11/25/14, 8:17 AM

Genius! We go around every morning unplugging and every night plugging in little lights on our stairs and in the basement where my daughter sleeps! Those would be the first places, but I can think of many more! Thank you! Love your blog, BTW! Jessica

  33. Every morning when I get up the cats are waiting to be fed and I step all over the black one. Would put this in the hallway where they lie in wait for me! Also pinned this on Pinterest! :)

  34. Fantastic! Definitely needed for the upstairs bathroom so the "littles" can see at night :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. This is a brilliant idea! I'd put one in the hallway for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I would install my first one at the top of our stairs so I wouldn't have to worry about my kids stumbling down the stairs when it's dark!

    ReplyDelete
  37. And I just pinned this post on Pinterest! Thank you!

  38. I have 3 little boys - a 5 year old & 3 year old twins - so I'm completely with you on the rough-housing aspect! I'd put them all over our house!! But I'd start with my boys' bedroom :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'd replace the nightlight in my toddler's room and put an outlet cover there. She's going to be transitioning out of the crib and I worry about her pulling out the nightlight and playing with the outlet.

I would put these in the hallway by my kids' rooms and also one in the kitchen. So cool!

  41. Our bedrooms are oddly the farthest rooms from our bathroom upstairs. I would put these in the little kids bedrooms and in the hall where it is just too dark at night!

We have a little nighlight at the base of the stairs, but I always manage to kick it when I'm going past it. One of these Guidelights would replace this nightlight and save my ankles!

  45. Denise Miller Mauzy11/25/14, 9:55 AM

    ReplyDelete

I would love these for the long dark hall that leads to the bathroom, too many bumps in the night! I have night lights in them now, but this is brilliant! Thank you for sharing

    ReplyDelete
  51. Love this idea. It'd be easier than reminding our kids to turn off their night lights. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Love, Love these! These would work perfect in our Master bath, stairway, guest bast, lower level landing area and of course the kitchen for the late night snacker!

    ReplyDelete
  53. These are amazing! I would put them in my in-laws house. We just moved them closer to us and they have a handicapped son so my mother-in-law has put up a big ugly push light with Velcro in the hallway by his bathroom. The SnapRays Guidelights would be perfect for them.

    ReplyDelete
  54. would totally put my first one in the bathroom upstairs... I always have a little one who needs to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night -been thinking of a creative way to not have to turn on the "big" light (very small bathroom -no room for a lamp or nightlight). Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I would put them in the front entryway, on the stairs and in the baby's room!

  58. What a great idea for a product! I would put them in the hallway and down the stairs for middle of the night safety!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Perfect for my daughter's room and the hallway for those middle of the night "potty" trips.

    ReplyDelete
  60. These have been on my radar for months and have been seriously considering them for the home we're building. The kids hallway and bathroom as well as our mudroom would definitely get these.

    ReplyDelete
  61. The baby's room & the way to the bathrooms. Oh, this would be so nice for the middle of the night potty-training trips!

  72. Okay, that is a BRILLIANT product! (no pun intended. ;) I'd love to put these in my kids' rooms and in the hallway outside all of the bedrooms.

    ReplyDelete
  73. These are so smart! I would use in hallways, bathrooms, kitchen--I love nightlights and this is so much more attractive...

    ReplyDelete
  74. Thanks for the chance to win!!! I'd put them in the hallways of our new home! I have twins turning TWO next week. One boy is officially escaping his crib so it's time to transition to toddler beds. These guide lights would be so helpful to light the way around the home! Falling down the stairs at night is such a fear of mine!

Get out! That is seriously cool!!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. These are excellent. We put the expensive ones in our house that require an electrician. I wish I would have known about these years ago. I would definitely give these to my good friend that is in a rental home (with three kids) two of which she is fostering to adopt. She currently has multiple night lights plugged in around her home.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I would put these in my hallway.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Renae Johansen11/25/14, 1:17 PM

Love these - - I hope I win, but if I don't - I must get some. My cat knocks my hallway night light over All. The. Time. Problem solved! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I would put one in my hallway, what a great invention.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I would put the first one in the bathroom, for sure! No more plugging and unplugging the nightlight in there in order to use the outlet for blowdryers and straighteners.

    ReplyDelete
  81. This is the greatest idea! I'd first put one in my bathroom!

    ReplyDelete
  82. The upstairs hallway is dark with only an overhead light on one end. It would be perfect there.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Kid's room!

    ReplyDelete
  84. The bedroom hallway!

    ReplyDelete
  85. These are awesome! I would put them all over my house, but first right outside my baby's room in the hallway.

    ReplyDelete
  86. These are great! I'd put them in my hallway, basement, and kids' bathroom and guest bathroom. Thanks for highlighting these!

    ReplyDelete
  87. I saw these on Pinterest, and I always wondered about them. Glad to see they are working well for you. I've actually thought about getting one for my bathroom. Thanks for sharing! Happy to hear they are fairly easy to install!

    ReplyDelete
  88. I would love these in every room, but I'd start in the halls. Great idea!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Near my stairs

    ReplyDelete
  90. I am LOVING these! I'd love to have them in my hallway, by the bathroom. It gets pretty dark and it can be tricky to navigate.

    ReplyDelete
  91. What a genius idea! I would plug mine into the hallway by my daughter's bedroom. She gets scared at night so instead of the big hall light on this would help her sleep better.

    ReplyDelete
  92. This would be perfect in the guest room and bathroom! Not only would it provide light but also draw attention to the outlets for the guests use.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  100. Ronda Batchelor11/25/14, 5:00 PM

I think everywhere, but I would start with the stair case and the bathrooms.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I would definitely put one in the bathrooms!

    ReplyDelete
  102. The first one I would install would be in the foyer. We didn't put a 2-way switch in so now you have to walk to the other end of the foyer to put the light on when coming from the garage. DUMB! It would be fabulous to have light in there without hitting a switch. The second would be in the garage. On these dark mornings it would be nice to have just enough light to get into the car safely. You don't know how many times i put the lights on to get to the car and then forget to shut them off before getting into the car. GRRR!

i love these i could definitely use these with my 4 little kids.

    ReplyDelete
  109. This is pure genius!!! I would have these in the hallway so I can see to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night, in the guest bedroom where my grandchildren sleep overnight, in the kitchen as I get up first in the morning and get the coffee ready, by the basement stairs. I love this idea!

    ReplyDelete
  110. In the hallway

    ReplyDelete
  114. Vern Turner Blissitt11/25/14, 7:50 PM

I would place them throughout the house so our little poodle, who has cataracts, can see once we turn out the lights. I carry her to bed now, because she won't move once it is dark in the house. We have a nightlight in our bedroom that shines into the hall enough for me to see, but not for her to see,

    ReplyDelete
  115. love to put them in my boys room so we could get rid of the night lights.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Kids bedrooms for sure! Then the hallways.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I would put them on the stairs into the basement. We saw these when they were kickstarted. Awesome product!

    ReplyDelete
  123. I would snap it into the kids bathroom! It kills me to leave a light on in there all night long, but they just won't get up if I don't and P-beds are just the worst!

    ReplyDelete
  124. i would use in my baby's room. Lots of late night feedings going on!

    ReplyDelete
  135. Guerrina Waters-Hernandez11/26/14, 2:59 PM

These look amazing! First place to install is the back hall so the kitchen light doesn't have to stay on all night!

    ReplyDelete
  136. These sound great! So simple, so smart! My 'need a night light' kids would appreciate these, as would guests since there are not usually enough night lights in the bathrooms and halls because they are in the kids rooms!

    ReplyDelete
  137. What a great idea! I'd put it in our laundry room/mudroom/back door entryway. Probably in the kitchen too since, of course, the light switch is on the opposite side everyone enters at night.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I would install them in my kitchen and stairs.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I'd start with my boys' rooms, then the hallway, then the bathrooms. And... I could go on and on. These are fantastic!

Would be great for the stairs descending into our garage. It is pitch black unless the bonus room light is on. No windows up there either, so when I say pitch black, I mean it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  142. I would put them by the stairs and the hallway. I am always worried about someone getting up during the night and falling down the stairs. These are great!

    ReplyDelete
  143. This would totally go in the hallway. I have a 4 year old and 2 year old who both like to wander out in the wee hours of the morning sometimes. This would be great!

    ReplyDelete

  152. Last winter, I had a terrible cough, so I gathered my pillow, cell phone (wake up alarm) and cough drops and headed down the hall to sleep in the other room. I tripped and landed on the top of my head since my hands were full and compressed several vertebrae in my neck. That caused me to visit the chiropractor a few times a week for several months.... Anyway, I would sure like to put a SnapRays Guidelight or 2 in the hall! Thanks for the chance to win!

I'd love to have these for my father who is 85 and has dementia. Because he has bladder control problems he's up several times during the night. He uses a flashlight now but often misplaces it. These would be great to install in his bedroom and the hallway.

In my son's nursery for light during midnight nursing sessions. Right now I have to turn on the bright hallway light outside.

Along the pathway from our bedroom to the door that goes into our garage. My husband leaves for work while it's still dark every morning and I don't want him to trip over or bump into anything. I have a fewNight lights now but these would be so much better because they don't take up an outlet
